Toward a World that Works for Everyone
I like to remind myself from time to time what I basically know to be true. Basic truth is the result of realized knowledge, knowledge that’s so deep it remains known for certain. The depth of the experience washes away all doubt and hesitation. Not at any time thereafter do we usually doubt what we […]
It may not feel very wonderful to be ‘in the dark’ as far as what exactly is ahead for each of us. We’ve all experienced fear of the unknown, but perhaps a wee bit of a shift in perception might serve to alleviate any anxiety we might have about the future. The world seems to […]
Raising Children Without the Concept of Sin My religious fundamentalist childhood was built around the fear of sin. My daughters don’t even know the word. Julia Scheeres, New York Times, Jan. 25, 2019 https://tinyurl.com/y4dvbqk8 We were standing in line for meat pies at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair. The indoor arena south of San Francisco […]
How do we judge when we’re discerning or discern when we’re judging? Oh, the whole thing is so confusing. Aren’t they the same? Well, words can be made to fit any circumstance. They’re symbols upon which we freely and arbitrarily bestow meaning. So I could use “judgment” and “discernment” as if they’re the same. But […]
By Miguel Dean, March 4, 2019, Sacred Masculine Blog httpss://www.migueldean.net/blog/ Of CNN’s list of the 27 Deadliest Mass Shooters, 26 of Them Had One Thing in Common: Only one was raised by his biological father since childhood. The other 26 were all fatherless. 🙁 In the article I read Susanne Venker of Fox News goes […]
Part 1. Rule of Law I’d like to look at three stages in the emergence of civilization among humans. My look is bounded by my knowledge and my knowledge is restricted to the Anglo-Saxon world in general and the British parliamentary tradition in particular. Sorry. That’s all I know and there’s no time any longer […]
– Kathleen and Steve. Two influential women in the Canadian cabinet have resigned on issues of the rule of law. Their stand cuts across old-style politics and says “Enough!” Judge Mary Ellen Turpel Lafond joins CPAC’s Peter Van Dusen to discuss Jane Philpott’s recent resignation as President of the Treasury Board in support of former […]
www.voiceoffreedom.ca Today, March 8th, is International Women’s Day, and I’m loving the new slogan: #balanceforbetter! In the balance of everything, everyone is Loved, not one more than another. There is no hierarchy. Universal Law teaches us this, as do the Divine Blessings and Virtues. Their purpose is balance. Years ago, in personal readings through Linda […]
I’d like to leave memes behind for the moment and look more deeply at the worldview we call “patriarchy.” Patriarchy is one of a number of perspectives that arise from egocentrism – the view that “I” am what’s most important in any one situation. Ethnocentrism, temperocentrism, and anthropocentrism are examples of its extensions into ethnic […]
My search for ‘Sacred Feminine’ in our recognition of International Women’s Day brought me to an unexpected treasure of a website. On a personal note, this was an extra-juicy find in that they offer Ayahuasca Retreats. In addition, their practices mirror the medicine ways that were shared with me in a smaller, more private group […]
I was about to write this to an editor, when I realized I was speaking more widely. “We need more and more writers given the task that lies ahead – and more and more of them, women. “It’ll have to be ‘training on the job.’ Everyone is invited to do whatever they can to help. […]
Last July, the Society I’m a board member of, A Door To Everything, embarked on an adventure of opening an artisan collective. What an amazing experience. Through this sweet little shop we are meeting all kinds of people in the local community and beyond, from the artisans interested in selling their locally-made goods to those […]
The recent health challenge that I went through was extremely painful when it was happening. Let me stop there. TMI, TMI. (1) It had numerous effects on me. Don’t forget I had pain from my chest area already and then additional pain from my abdomen. And somehow pain drains the energy away. For whatever reason, […]
httpss://www.internationalwomensday.com/Theme International Women’s Day 2019 campaign theme: #BalanceforBetter The future is exciting. Let’s build a gender-balanced world. Everyone has a part to play – all the time, everywhere. From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance. We notice its absence and celebrate its presence. […]
I’ve been recuperating from a fall in which I bruised a rib. Because the bruise was so painful, I didn’t do anything that would engage the hurting muscle. Well, going to the bathroom did and so I dispensed with it. Seven days later I’m well and truly constipated. I don’t know which is worse. A […]
