USAID building closed as agency’s future in doubt

Staffers at the U.S. Agency for International Development were told the agency’s main building in Washington was closed on Monday and they should work from home.
The email came early Monday morning, soon after tech mogul and President Donald Trump ally Elon Musk said he had spoken to the president, who agreed to close down the agency.
“With regard to the USAID stuff, I went over it with him in detail, and he agreed that we should shut it down,” Musk said in a live X Spaces early Monday morning. Trump has tasked Musk with leading the Department of Government Efficiency group, which is exploring where cuts can be made in the executive branch.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Musk followed up his comments a few hours later with a post on X suggesting that the closure was already well underway.
“We spent the weekend feeding USAID into the wood chipper,” Musk wrote.
USAID handles billions of dollars in U.S. foreign aid, which is also largely frozen at the moment following a separate executive order by the president.
Trump told reporters Sunday evening that the agency was run by “radical left lunatics” which the administration was kicking out “and then we’ll make a decision.”
Any major structural reform to USAID is almost certain to need congressional approval.
Several USAID employees said that the person who sent the email telling people to stay home is a member of Musk’s DOGE. The person did not respond to a request for comment.

The young and exceptionally talented DOGE Boys working with Elon Musk to audit the US Treasury Department were identified by the media.
The young engineers are between 19 and 24 years old. One of the five is still in college.
These young men are tasked with “modernizing Federal technology and software to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity.”
The names of these young heroes were released by WIRED.

Elon Musk retweeted their names in a tweet on X on Tuesday.
According to WIRED all of these young men currently have working GSA emails and A-suite level clearances at the GSA, which means that they work out of the agency’s top floor and have access to all physical spaces and IT systems, according to a source with knowledge of the GSA’s clearance protocols.
Wired and other far-left outlets have been quick to paint Musk’s team as inexperienced due to their age and scant government backgrounds.
Despite their limited experience in government, these young innovators are already making their mark, tasked with modernizing federal technology to enhance government productivity and efficiency.
The group of men are extremely talented.

Significant news broke Monday night that could prove an absolute game-changer in President Trump’s arduous efforts to keep America safe and ship out illegal aliens. And we have one fearless leader of a small country in Central America to thank for this.
As CBS News reported, Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele to urge him to do more to assist the Trump administration on its illegal immigration crackdown.
Bukele, who has become a global hero for turning El Salvador into the safest country in the Northern Hemisphere thanks to his iron-fist approach to criminals, came through in dramatic fashion. Rubio said what the two agreed to is genuinely historic.
President Nayib Bukele “has agreed to the most unprecedented, extraordinary, extraordinary migratory agreement anywhere in the world,” Rubio announced after meeting with Bukele at his country house outside San Salvador.
The details are indeed absolutely stunning. Not only has El Salvador agreed to take in criminal illegal alien deportees of all nationalities, but it has also offered to take in violent criminals imprisoned in the United States, even if they are AMERICAN citizens.
Yes, El Salvador is even offering to take in American rapists and murderers, which will alleviate our supposed ‘over-incarceration’ problem.
“We can send them and he will put them in his jails,” Rubio revealed. “And, he’s also offered to do the same for dangerous criminals currently in custody and serving their sentences in the United States even though they’re U.S. citizens or legal residents.”
State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce confirmed the massive news in a statement.
“President Bukele agreed to take back all Salvadoran MS-13 gang members who are in the United States unlawfully. He also promised to accept and incarcerate violent, illegal immigrants, including members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, but also criminal illegal migrants from any country,” Bruce said.
“And in an extraordinary gesture never before extended by any country, President Bukele offered to house in his jails dangerous American criminals, including U.S. citizens and legal residents,” Bruce added.
