Matt Kahn: Since it seems like there are so many new people here today, I thought I’d take a moment to just briefly explain what this is.
What I offer is called a transmission of presence. And what that means is that every word I speak is intuitively guided, which is the case for me whether I’m on stage or off. But whenever I speak it’s intuitively guided, to only bring forth the highest information and wisdom that is pertinent for each of our souls’ journey, with the intention of helping you awaken, heal and transform every aspect of yourself and to live in alignment with your soul’s highest destiny.
What I say is spontaneously provided. It doesn’t need to be over-thought or over-analyzed, because as I speak, the sound of my voice emanates a healing vibrational frequency. So it’s as if the words that I speak are simply decorating the transmission of energy coming through the sound. And it’s not as if what I’m saying needs to be agreed with or disagreed with or analyzed or anything like that, because what the words I speak are doing are [is] narrating the very experience that you are having as you receive the energy that emanates through this transmission.
And so it’s very much a feeling experience. Just take the time to feel. What does it feel like to be in this energy? And just feel. Because the time you take in our journey together to just simply feel, and let the feelings tell the tale, whether it’s being told as quickly as you’d like… It’s a good practice, because when you’re not in this setting, it makes it easier for you to let your feelings tell the tale throughout your life. As you may or may not have seen, when you let your feelings guide you, and when you let life tell the tale and bring you everything you need, you tend to be in the flow of something called harmony. And when we’re trying to fast-track, short-cut our life at a different rate of speed than life is unfolding, we tend to experience disharmony. Not that any of you have ever experienced that! Maybe someone you know. [laughs]
And the reason I talk about harmony, because harmony is the cornerstone. Harmony is the cornerstone of what we know as ascension. Ascension is a period of time that we are living in where not just individuals are waking up to the truth of their being, but it’s a time in history where it’s time for an entire planet to wake up and to manifest an enlightened society, and express the joy of unity consciousness in human form. And at this time, approximately one-third of the planet is in the midst of waking up.
I mean, we’re all really waking up in different ways, but a third of the planet right now is going through an accelerated period of awakening. And that one-third of the planet that’s going through this accelerated period of awakening is known as the first wave of ascension, which is why you are here.
So, if you wanted to know, right now, How do I know if I’m part of the first wave of ascension? Well, since you’re here, I would say you made the meetings. [laughs] So we’re all a member of the first wave of ascension. We are all waking up at an accelerated rate, with no end to how brightly you can shine.
And so today I wanted to talk about what I call the heart of ascension. What is the heart of ascension? You’ve probably heard the statement [expression], the heart of the matter. Right? The heart of the matter indicates, what’s the focal point? What’s the heart of ascension? What’s the central theme within this ascension?
Since you’re already waking up — right? I’m not here to say you should wake up; I’m here because you are waking up — since you are waking up, what’s the heart of ascension? The heart of ascension is a path of surrender. And it’s very important. Talk about surrender because it’s a very misunderstood topic, very misunderstood. Widely debated. Easily misinterpreted. So if the heart of ascension is the path of surrender, what does it mean to surrender?
Okay, sometimes, when life doesn’t seem to go your way, you get on to it, and you go, Okay, I surrender. And have you ever noticed that after you say I surrender, life doesn’t change? You ever have that happen to you? Right? You think like, it’s like an Olympic sport, you say the magic words and the bells go off, the lights turn on, here comes a parade of angels… You won! You said the magic words!
Oh, I hoped that would happen. I surrender! I surrender. I let go. I will let God. There is no doer. Thy will be done. Hasta la vista, baby. Right? Whatever! You said, I surrender, and you’re waiting for the big prize. And nothing happens.
This happens to teach us the reality of surrender. Because what happens is we do that — I surrender, nothing happens. And so we go, Okay. I must need to do this repetitively. I’m going to do this all day. I’m just going to keep surrendering. And then surrendering becomes this repetitive process. I mean, you think you have to keep surrendering. And we still kind of missed the point of it.
Because most people think of surrender as I give up. But how can surrender be I give up in a world that requires your full participation? That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Because most people, when they give up, they think they’re giving up control, right? I give up. But what they usually give up is the will to participate. And that’s not surrender. That’s called resignation. That’s called withdrawal, apathy.
So, surrender isn’t about giving up, because this life requires your full participation. It doesn’t have to be intense. It doesn’t have to be with a full grip. But surrender isn’t about giving up. Surrender is actually a journey. And of course if I say a journey, a journey indicates a starting point and an end point. So if the path of surrender is a journey that has a beginning and an ending, what’s the path of surrender?
The path of surrender takes you from fearing change to having the self-worth to know that you’re worthy of change. And when you are what I call a surrendered heart, you are not lost in a superstitious mind-set that either relies on change for comfort and fulfillment or fears change as the reason why everything feels so limiting. Instead, change becomes the one thing that in most moments life is inviting you to do.
Sometimes people say, I surrender. I give up. But you know what they really are giving up? They’re giving up their right to change, which is the opposite of surrender. When you surrender, you surrender into change. Does that make sense? It’s a different way of talking about it, but it makes it more functional. Because if we’re going to talk about spirituality it has to be in a way where it makes sense for our lives. Right? Gone are the days where we can have a really deep esoteric conversation, and we leave this room and it has no application in your life.
The most important teachings are the ones that you can apply to your life immediately. So we’re not trying to surrender our ability to change; change is what we’re surrendering into. We’re surrendering into welcoming change as the most beneficial gift you can give to the world and the most immediate needs to transform everything in your life.
What is life asking of you? To change. When you are a surrendered heart, when you have woken up, if there is no ego structure…. That’s something interesting to talk about. What’s an easy way to talk about no ego? No ego doesn’t mean you don’t have a personality. That’s another misconception. We’re not going to all walk around like bland vanilla, staring at the wall:
I’m an awake being. I don’t make choices because I’m so awake. I go to a restaurant, I just stare at a menu because I’m so awake.
The waiter comes over. What would you like for lunch?
Oh, my good sir. I’m too awake to make a choice. Clearly, my radiance is blinding me from even reading the menu. [laughs] I shall not even order. I’ll just draw the vibration from the menu, from the letters. I’m so awake! [laughs] Oh, no. No beverage. I bring my own communion wine. That’s all I drink, is communion wine, because I’m so awake and spiritual! [chuckle]
That’s not what it’s like. No ego doesn’t mean no personality. No ego means nothing in the way of you changing. Does that make sense? When life wants you to change, a no-ego awake being changes like that. Life goes, Change. And you go, All right.
And what’s really funny is that when you have no ego — and I don’t mean like no ego, just no attachment to ego — the idea of whether or not you’re going to enjoy the change or whether you agree with the change has no bearing. It doesn’t even come into question.
Like, I’m going to do this now.
Well, do you want to do that?
What? Do I want to do that? What does that matter? Life says, ’Go do this.’ Okay, I’m going to go do this.
It’s very simple. Without an ego, there’s no discussion. That’s basically what no ego means, no discussion. If there’s an ego, life gives you a direction, and you want to have a conversation about it — which is wonderful! Right? You want to be briefed on the details. But if you’ve ever noticed, you never get enough details, right?
Like, you want to have this conversation with the universe. You have a few questions, the universe will indulge you for a little bit, and then it just doesn’t stop. But wait! And then… it’s just complicated.
And when there’s no ego, like it gives you a direction, it’s time for you to change again, and you’re totally fine with it.
So that’s what no ego means. No ego means nothing in the way of changing. And if you want to… you know, if you ever want to know, like, you know, where’s the ego? Well, how open are you to change? And not the clever change where it’s like, I’m open to change when I think it’s going to make things work more in my favor. Not that kind of change. You know? Not the calculated change.
That’s a fun phrase, calculated change. We all like calculated change. I’m talking about uncalculated change. Where life goes:
Just cross the street.
But what…?
Just go across the street.
But how do I…?
Just go across the street! Go over there!
But how do I…
Just get over there! There’s a crosswalk, right there. Just go.
Uncalculated change. That’s the measurement of no ego. Calculated change, ego loves that. Right? The five-year plan? The ego loves that one. The five-year spiritual plan? Even better. Ego can even turn ascension into a five-year calculated plan.
So no ego means nothing in the way of changing. And the path of surrender is your willingness to constantly change as a catalyst of transformation, that simultaneously brings new energy into your life, simultaneously uplifts your vibration as well as puts energy into the fields of everyone around you, to transform life for the well-being of all.
So, at the rate at which you change and transform and expand, you’re putting energy out for all to change and transform. You’re going to be the first one that changes, but over time the world’s going to reflect back to you the energy you’ve been putting out. And the energy you put out is through your choices.
So it’s as if the reason we actually have choices is because choices have a vibrational scale, and the choices that are more courageous and more of an embodiment of your highest wisdom are going to infuse higher vibration into your field and put higher vibrations into the field of consciousness. And the more you put powerful choices into your life, the more life will start reflecting back to you that vibrational frequency of energy.
So, if you think about it, it’s kind of like the energy behind choices is like a… it’s like an energetic 401K. I’ll explain it this way. Right? And you’re… everyday you’re making choices and you’re investing new energy into your field. And over time life will reflect back to you that energy. Right? The more money you put in your 401K, supposedly, the more money it makes for you. Right? For all intents and purposes. Energetically, the same thing. The better the energy you put into the field, the more that energy comes to you.
But it’s not just the energy of how you look and react with other people. It’s the energy of the choices you’re making in the situations you’re in. Because the path of surrender, in that life’s going to put you in situations where you’re going to constantly change, to inspire growth and expansion for the well-being of all, constantly putting new vibrational frequencies into the field, allowing people in the field to reflect back how often you’ve made those deposits.
And so, when we enter the path of surrender we go from either relying on change to feel fulfilled, or avoiding change out of a fear of loss. And we wake up out of those two extremes and we find change as the most invaluable gift you can give yourself. The most invaluable gift you can give yourself is the willingness to change. And like I said, when people over-spiritualize surrender, they think surrender is letting go of the ability to change, which is not what it is at all.
I’ve transcended change. I no longer need to make different choices in my life.
No. That’s never what this is about at all. Because, remember, no ego means nothing in the way of change. And so if the central theme of surrender is your willingness to change, right, you’ll surrender your desire for certain changes to surrender your avoidance of other changes and to surrender into the willingness to change so that you can bring higher vibrational energy into the field as a gift for all.
Then the question becomes, What’s the main change that life is always asking of you? Life is constantly asking you to change, but what’s the change that needs to be made? And that change is to change your relationship with the life that you view.
It’s not like a reward and punishment thing where you’re not doing something. It’s not like the change I’m saying is because I’m saying you’re not doing something. Like, that’s how it’s taken. That’s why people like surrender, and they get to let go of their choices because they think that an opportunity to change means they’re not doing something right. So they take it as a judgment. Does that make sense?
Right? If I need to change something, it means I was doing something wrong. Whereas the way the universe looks at it, as, you’re doing so well, let’s keep changing to raise the bar to the next level. See, it’s not about your doing something wrong. It’s not correcting you. It’s inviting you to the next level of evolution. Does that make sense?
So it’s not like, Hey, you should change.
Why? What did I do wrong?
Nothing. You did something so right that you need to keep changing so you can keep going to the next level, and bring such amazing energy to the planet.
So it’s, if you think about it, there’s this weird judgment where we think change is a judgment that I’m doing something wrong, where in fact that’s what we tell ourselves. And we fool ourselves into seeing that when life says it’s time to change, it’s not a parent admonishing a child, it’s the universe congratulating you and welcoming you to the next level. How’s that for a shift of perspective?
So when life says Time to change, it’s Look what I won, not Look what I’ve done.
And the main change is changing your relationship with life. And all the different relationships, whether it’s between you and your own heart, between you and co-workers, people at work, your lover, your family, whatever, these are all relationships. And of course because we’re all one at our essence, changing your relationship with the difficult people and characters in your life is really changing your relationship with yourself. And whether you realize that or not doesn’t really matter.
Because life is going to constantly ask you to surrender into changing your relationships, not because you’ve done something wrong, but because it’s an opportunity to go from doing something right to doing something even more right.
****
And when you are changing your relationship with life, the primary journey — which we’re going to focus on today — is the journey from avoidance to acceptance. Avoidance to acceptance.
And I want to talk about acceptance today because it’s another misunderstood term. You ever notice that? Like surrender, acceptance is way misunderstood. A lot of times people think acceptance means, I’m going to pretend to enjoy what hurts. You ever notice that? That’s like a very common spiritual… like, Oh! My day was ruined. Like, if you think your day was ruined by something, I accept that. Right? Because basically what someone is saying is I’m trying to accept that. You ever notice that? You can feel it in your body when someone’s trying to accept something because you don’t… no one can believe it. The only person that tries to believe it is the one pulling it off, and not even they can believe it. They’re just trying.
I…I…I accept that. I accept it.
It’s always like this, like, impersonating tone.
I accept that!
No, you don’t. [laughter] No, you don’t accept that! In fact, you know what? You shouldn’t accept it. I like to go the other way. I like to just… twist it upside down.
You shouldn’t accept that.
Why?
Because you’re denying your individuality. Because you’re… your words say I accept and your body says you’re lying! So bad…
If you accept, your eye and cheek won’t twitch. You ever see that?
I accept! [probably mimics something]
[laughter]
Your body will call you out on a lie so quickly! Your body goes, Oh, watch them lie. Watch what I do. Watch this nervous tic. Watch this.
[laughter]
It’s your own polygraph. You don’t need a polygraph, just watch the body. Someone who’s completely in the truth is just calm and centered, and it’s just the way it is. Someone who’s trying to accept? It’s like a cartoon. It’s like, Ah, I don’t think your body believes that. I think you want to believe that.
And why do people want to… why do people try to do that? Why do people try to accept? Because the strategy seems to be — seems to be! — I’m trying to accept so that when the universe sees how awesome I am at doing that, then it will make what’s uncomfortable shift faster.
Isn’t that kind of manipulative? I accept what is. Give me my prize! Isn’t that like the most ridiculous form of manipulation? I think it is. Don’t accept anything if you can’t accept it. First of all, if you accept something, you don’t need to tell yourself you accept it. That’s the first thing. If you accept, you would… if you totally accept something, you would never even think of acceptance. So if you’re thinking of acceptance, you don’t accept it. And you’re better of just admitting, You know what? I don’t accept this. Good! Because not accepting something is the first moment of acceptance, oddly enough.
Because what does acceptance really mean? Acceptance means, I acknowledge my individual experience, without needing to re-frame, without needing to shift into a different perspective — Oh, but if I look at it from this perspective… Don’t. Don’t look at it from any other perspective. Just be in the one you have. Don’t try to trade your perspective like kids trying to trade their lunches. Don’t trade at all. Just be in your perspective. And if you hate life, based on what’s happened, okay. Acceptance starts with My experience seems to be this has happened, and it’s caused me to feel this way.
So acceptance is a way of saying acknowledge your natural experience. Now, you can’t acknowledge your natural experiences if you’re trying to deny it or get away from it or over-spiritualize it. Right? So, acceptance is, I acknowledge, here’s how I’m feeling, here’s what I’m thinking, here’s what I’m conspiring, here’s what I’m planning. That’s what acceptance is, acknowledging your experience.
Because if you don’t acknowledge your experience, what state are you in? You’re in the state of denial. So how do you come out of denial? Acknowledging what is happening. But you don’t have to like what’s happening. You just have to acknowledge what’s happening. And if you don’t like what’s happening, acknowledge that. Oh, this is happening. And I really don’t like it right now. Don’t like it at all.
That’s acceptance. Because you’re not denying. Because if you deny, you’re going to repress all these emotions and they’re going to wind up coming out and being projected onto someone in a completely unrelated moment. And then you’re going to be like, Why did I do that? Because that’s what happens. Whatever you repress, you’re bound to express. That’s why they say, The truth shall set you free.
And the whole idea of, like, Well, I don’t want to say how I feel because I’m going to put those words into the ethers and manifest more — that’s just trash. With all due respect, that’s just spiritual garbage. It’s not how life works. Like you’re going to feel sad, and say, I feel sad, and then God’s going to be like, Oh, I guess she wants to feel sad more often? Well, if you don’t want to be sad, why’d you say it?
You think that’s how it works? That’s not how it works at all. If that’s how life worked, it’d be a lot different planet, let me tell you.
There’s a second part of acceptance. The first is acknowledging your humanity. Be a human being. A human being is already the highest… aspect or the highest expression of divinity. So a human being is not less than divine, a human being is proof of the divine’s highest expression. And when this highest expression comes into full bloom and its divine fragrance starts to express itself through this being… [in? and?] a willingness to change, does not tempt or torture the being that emanates this beautiful fragrance, then spirit is on full display.
So in the beginning, your willingness to be an individual is celebrating the divine in its highest form. And if the divine wants to dress up as a human being and respond to something it can’t control in the play of life with anger, sadness, depression, then we acknowledge that. God doesn’t break character, so why are you? God doesn’t break character at all.
God loves being in form. And when you merge back into your Source, you will return to the divinity that loves being in form. And then you will love being in form as well. And the more you love being in form, the more you free others who are not having a good time yet, just by being who you are. [ ? ? ] walking around the planet, having a good time.
Love being in form! Look at me! I’m in form. I’m in form! Look what I can do! [hums]
How many fingers? Still 10. I’m in form. It’s fun!
And when you accept your humanity, and when you come into acceptance, which is acknowledging how you feel, no matter when it is, it takes us to the second level of acceptance. The second level of acceptance is that acceptance really means that no matter whether it’s coming your way as a circumstance, as an outcome, no matter what is going on in your life, acceptance is the acknowledgment that it was not created by chance by the characters who are playing this out, that everything in life is orchestrated by a larger spiritual reality that only brings into your hologram, into your field, the very experience that triggers the emotion that you are being asked to be more comfortable with welcoming, as equally as you welcome all of the emotions that you prefer to feel.
So it’s as if every emotion is like a flash card, an energetic flash card, and you are constantly practicing with the universe to hone your skills and to elevate your vibration. And you will be put in any situation, you will encounter any kind of variety of experience and any kind of outcome which, in the play, will look like the actions and reactions of characters. If it wasn’t for them, this wouldn’t have happened. That’s the movie.
But the only reason why something happens in your life is at the very moment it triggers a certain feeling that tells you that’s the next feeling in line for you to welcome… and you don’t have to like it, you don’t have to love it, you can hate it if you want! But the acknowledgment is that whether I like it or hate it, whether it’s convenient or inconvenient, I accept that this was only created as a catalyst for my highest evolution, created by a greater spiritual force of reality, to help me make peace and come to terms with feelings that seem uncomfortable so I can learn to relate to them as openly as the feelings I prefer even though they don’t feel like the feelings I prefer.
We’re learning to change our relationship with the things in view. We may not like sadness, we may not like depression, we may not like anger, but we learn to welcome it into our heart with as much respect as we would happiness, joy and enthusiasm. As if every feeling, every emotion, every thought is a color that is vital in comprising the appearance of a rainbow. There are colors you love and there are ones that you may despise, but even the most despicable color must be present in order for the rainbow to be. Equally, every feeling, thought, experience in the totality must exist in order for this to be. Without one, this could not be.
So acceptance is accepting that everything is to be respected as a manifestation of a spiritual reality that is only here to help you grow into higher levels of spiritual consciousness at the rate at which you’re willing to be honest about how you feel whenever discomfort, agitation, frustration or unsuspecting outcomes of adversity come your way. Does that make sense?
It’s the constant acknowledgment, it’s surrendering into the acknowledgment that this was brought to me by a spiritual reality, by my true nature, by the divinity within me [that] has orchestrated this moment for this outcome to be. And I am feeling this way, and I am facing this so that whatever mixture of feelings are present in my body, I can say this is the next thing for me to accept, as the next catalyst of my evolution for me to get comfortable with this feeling. Even though it doesn’t feel like happiness, even though it may not feel like joy, can I start to welcome it as an equal gift, as equally as potent of a gift as happiness and joy? It’s not going to feel the same, but it deserves the same respect.
And when you realize that the feelings that get triggered as a result of outcome is [are] there for you to allow yourself to be as equally willing to accept those as the ones you prefer, that’s what it means to do the spiritual work. That’s the real spiritual work.
You’re constantly transforming your relationship, constantly welcoming what’s coming your way. There’s no interest in blaming people for situations because they didn’t do anything. They’re just reading from a script and they’re following what the director told them to do, because the director knows how to help you grow, because you’re the director. And not the director that says, I wouldn’t have created that! That’s not the one directing it. That’s the actor thinking they’re the director. Not the same thing.
The you that’s doing all of this is not doing it with a personality or an ego. It created all of this prior to time, and you don’t remember creating it because you weren’t in a body. And now you’re in a body trying to create. Why not just enjoy what’s been created? And why not surrender into the acceptance that everything is a manifestation of divinity, helping you to end your judgment of, This is better than this; this is less than this; this is good; this is bad; this is light; this is dark?
Life is trying to end your relationship with judgment, because you are inter-connected to the totality of all. And at the rate at which you change your relationships with emotions, and release judgments out of your field, what’s the likelihood that it starts to release out of every field simultaneously? So we’re not just doing work for our individual fields; the work on our individual fields is actually all fields.
So it’s not, Why do I have so much crap in my field? Geez, how much crap can I have? How many lifetimes did I not get it right? Geez, that’s quite a bar tab I’ve racked up. Got a lot of crap here. Does everyone else have this much crap? A lot of crap!
It’s not that. It’s not yours. It’s your individual experience of the total, collective field. And you are individually putting energy into the field to inspire the entire field to change its relationship with emotions by how openly you welcome things. And you have to let honesty guide you. If you don’t like it, admit it. This feels terrible. I hate it. I wish it would go away. But it could only be a manifestation of the divine. It could only be a catalyst of my highest transformation. It can only be here for me to welcome it so that as I welcome it I lighten the load for others and help those that can’t help welcome it to find some peace and [resolve?].
That’s acceptance. So there is no, I’m trying to accept. Acceptance is acknowledgment: This is from the divine. I don’t have to like it.
Sometimes the divine will manifest things in your field just to get you to admit you don’t like it to get you out of the spiritual judgment that says I can’t not like things. That’s unspiritual. It’s not unspiritual at all. Admit when you don’t like something. And if you admit to yourself that you don’t like it, you’ll have absolutely no motivation to either tell the person that you think is in charge of what you don’t like… there’ll be no confrontation and nothing will be projected onto someone.
When you’re honest with yourself, it rarely needs to be externalized. You rarely need to have conversations with other people. That people that you think are causing your dramas are the last people you should be talking to, to be perfectly honest. Like, if you think someone has caused something in your life, that’s the last person you should ever talk to about it.
Someone from another country who doesn’t even speak your language should be closer in line than they should be. A complete stranger should be closer on, you know, to the front of the line than them. The last person you ever want to talk to anything about is the person you think is causing it. Because if you talk to them you’re forgetting that they are a character orchestrated by the universe only to bring up the very feelings that are next in line for you to heal yourself and transform the totality.
And when you talk to someone and you speak your mind, what are you really saying to them? I need you to change. And then you can’t be happy and fulfilled until they do something different, which makes you — what’s that word? Victim, that’s right — a victim. A victim says I can’t be happy until other people change. That means you have no power. They have all the power, and until they make a different decision, you’re going to suffer until they change.
But that’s not what surrender is. Surrender isn’t, I suffer until other people change. Surrender is, I’m the one that changes. And I change by changing my relationship with whatever I feel by accepting that the only catalyst causing any outcome to occur is a divine force within me that is bringing me what’s next in line to make peace with life, to come into harmony, to bring forth the highest vibrational energy, for the well-being of all… Just by saying I don’t have to like this, I can hate it, and yet this is the next thing for me to welcome, as an equal expression of the totality.
That’s what surrender is. Surrender into changing the way you approach your life. Surrendering into changing the way you welcome things. Surrendering into changing… how you act and behave in this form. And it’s… could be as simple as everything is the divine, no matter how it acts. And when you affirm that, it’s surprising how much more divine everyone around you becomes.
Some people go, People around me don’t act very divine.
And how often do you affirm that they’re divine?
Oh, I don’t.
Well, that’s why they act like that. Because you are not affirming them as the divine, so life… there is a belief that there’s something existing in your reality other than the divine, and so then you allow characters to act un-divine-like, to substantiate that perception and belief.
If you constantly affirm that everyone around you is the divine, it could only slowly or quickly bring forth their highest, most divine qualities. It just depends what kind of game you want to play. You want to bring forth God in every form? There’s that game. You want to have proof that there’s something other than the divine in existence, and you want to be victimized by people, so that when you sit in your little group you can be the most opinionated one who can tell people how it is? That gets old.
We’ve all been that person, or we know someone who likes to, Let me tell you how life is.
Yeah, you tell me how life is, God. Lord. Almighty. Tell me how life is.
Because you can’t tell people how life is and remember God at the same time, so you’ve got to pick your game. I’ve picked mine. And I’m here to help you pick yours. Although if you look at the options it’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? Experience the God in everything, or be victimized by the things that you can’t accept, that will be done to you by situations you can’t change.
It seems like a pretty clear choice. And yet you still have to make that choice.
So let us not think acceptance means, I should accept that. Should what? What does that even mean, I should accept that? What the hell does that even mean? Does that even make any sense? If you think about it, I should accept, what does that even mean, I should accept that? Why? Admitting you don’t accept it is more of acceptance. I do not accept that this happened. I hate that it happened. I’ll never accept it. I hate it completely. And yet it could only be a manifestation of the divine to bring me to my next level of transformation just by admitting what I hate.
That’s more of an expression of acceptance than anything else. Because you cannot become the full, rainbow expression of divinity if you’re afraid or not given permission to express all feelings and thoughts and experiences. Harmony must be brought to everything. We’re not transforming darkness into light. We’re inviting the darkness into the light. So darkness erupts as discord, as frustration, as pain, as anger, whatever it is, and the light within you says, Come on in.
Because what you welcome transforms in your presence. What you push away unpacks its bags and stays longer. You ask, When is this going to go away? It puts its stuff down, empties out its suitcase, puts all its stuff in your drawers and says, I’m going to hang out here for a while. You push it away, it stays longer. You welcome it in —
Hey, welcome! Come on in!
Yeah, I know. You’re a little uncomfortable, aren’t you? Yeah, I feel that. Wow. Whoo!
What’s your name? Anger? Wow. You’re loud! Shit! … Wow, all right. Well…. that’s… hey, that’s just how you are, anger.
Right, if you ever think about emotions like people?
Oh, wow, anger! You talk very loud. But that’s just who you are. Not a hearing problem? Really? Wow. That’s just how you are? Just loud? All right. Well… Hello, anger. Apparently while you’re here, you’re going to be loud. You’re going to have a lot of points to make. I’m going to do a lot of listening, aren’t I? I sense this. I’m going to do a lot of listening. Well, come on in. You want some tea?
And then you being so welcoming doesn’t give anger the platform to be angry. And then it starts to dissolve and heal — not against anger’s whims; anger gets to be fulfilled, and anger finally gets the love and kindness it never has received. And it’s given permission to complete its journey. And every emotion you face, from every outcome, is that opportunity. It’s just like someone else knocking on your door for you to be the welcoming crew.
Oh! What’s your name? Sadness? Oh… come on in. Umm…. wow, you feel real heavy. Well, come on in.
You see? And you just welcome everything. The more you welcome, the quicker it transmutes. And it’s not you transmuting it in your individual field, you’re transmuting it in your field, which is proof of it being transmuted in all fields. You’re transmuting it for all who are caught up in it. And as I’ve said before, you only get tormented by living in a world, until you start living for the world. And when you start living for the world in this way, you forget how to be a person living in the world. The one living in the world disappears, and all of a sudden the world is a gift, the world is a treasure, the world is a grace.
The world is supreme godliness, but only when you welcome what comes your way, and you make friends with anything, whether you prefer it or not. Not because you like it, but because it’s a manifestation of the divine. And you, the divine, have created it to help transform your relationship with life, so that you can sit back and watch everything around you transform and change right before your eyes.
You came here to watch your own blossoming be animated and depicted by a world of endless beauty. At the rate at which you change, at the rate at which you welcome, at the rate at which you acknowledge, you infuse high vibrational energy into the field that allows the world to step forward and show the god that you are, your true self, depicted within the beauty of individuality.
Acceptance isn’t difficult. Surrender isn’t difficult. It’s only difficult when you’re not ready. And when you’re not ready, it’s because you’re scared. You’re scared of God, you’re scared of yourself, you’re scared of life, you’re scared… you’re just scared. You’re scared. That’s okay.
So, if you’re scared, that must be addressed first. Fear must be addressed first. Because by addressing fear, we become ready for the path of surrender. And so, if we’re afraid, how do we prepare to enter the path of surrender by facing fear? Well, we allow fear to be the first one that we open our door and welcome.
Oh, come on in. What’s your name? Fear? Oooh, yikes. Scarey. What’s that? Oh, you say someone’s chasing you? Really? Oh, no, you’re… you’re fear. That’s why you said that.
See? That’s what fear does. Fear is in fear, right? So, if fear was a person, it would be like someone who always thinks something’s out to get them. And even when they’re in your house, you think someone’s going to come get you, because that’s what fear does.
Well, fear, while you’re here…. (and, by the way, couldn’t be more freaked out), it’s okay that you’re scared. I’m kind of scared myself. But you’re welcome to be here. Stay as long as you want. Anything you wish to say, please share it with me, and I will be here to give you the love that you may not have ever received by those that said, “I’ll be willing to love you, once you first knock this crap off.”
And an awakening heart doesn’t ask anything to knock anything off. It doesn’t ask anyone to change. Because what does the path of surrender remind you? You’re here to change.
Come on in, fear. Stay as long as you want, and I’ll love you like you’ve never been loved before.
It’s not loving how you feel when you’re afraid. It’s recognizing that when you’re afraid, of all moments, it is a moment that you deserve love more than anything else, isn’t it? Don’t you deserve love when you’re afraid? So why shouldn’t that be a moment that, when you’re afraid, that becomes the moment when your love becomes the gift you give yourself?
In our lowest qualities of human being, we deserve more love, not less. And in our highest qualities of human being, we deserve even more love, not less. So no matter what comes to you, the remedy is always more love.
Oh, you betrayed me? More love to you.
I don’t want to love you? More love to me.
That’s the path of surrender.
Every time you embrace, accept, welcome and love, you are saying, There is divine reality in this manifestation, and I welcome it into my heart and call forth the divine to come out and play, to reflect back to me the divine that I am.
Love is divinity acknowledging itself as the One in All. And the celebration of oneness that cascades throughout this planet, this universe, like an endless current of silence, is a non-stop I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you.
[pause; breathing]
I’m sure you can feel that energy. It’s the energy of heaven. It’s where you are right now. It’s where you’ve always been. This is just a movie we’re in, but the movie’s in heaven.
Funny how the movie doesn’t have to be about heaven to be in heaven. Isn’t that funny? We’re living out a big movie in heaven that seems to be about anything other than heaven. Maybe it’s because at the core of your being all of the actors in the play already know they’re in heaven, so they want to have a movie about other things because that’s what’s interesting. Maybe we talk about anything but heaven because we know where we already are. And we forget that we know where we are. Which is why we forget to remind ourselves.
And by forgetting to remind ourselves, we commit even more to the character, which is the entire reason why characters are created, to commit to them. Thank God as… that as the planet comes into a fifth-dimensional alignment in this movie, thank God spirituality will no longer be seen as a means of escaping humanity, or a means of escaping your individuality.
Transcending the human condition does not have to do with escaping your individuality. You will always be an individual. And what’s hilarious — and I say it, hilarious, in meaning an innocent hilarious — is you can have the most shrewd and crafty spiritual being who defines themselves as being the most educated spiritual being ever to walk the planet; they can have renounced their name, like, Oh, I do not go by the name given to the body! Right? I do not limit myself by a series of sounds. I cannot be defined and limited by sounds. You cannot make a series of sounds and make me turn your direction, for I am too spiritual. I cannot be controlled by your sounds. If you make sounds, I’ll go over there. That’s how liberated I am.
[chuckle]
And yet, a being who plays that game, who postures — and again, we all go through that stage; just some of us are blessed to spend less time than others in spiritual posture-land — and the minute the divine or an angel calls you by your first name, you’re a five-year-old again.
Hi! It’s me!
All of a sudden, answering to a sound is not that bad of a thing.
I cannot be controlled by your sounds!
Matt!
Hi, God!
And then you’re a five-year-old again. You will always be known in heaven as an individual aspect of the divine, just like in Hinduism there are individual aspects of the divine, like deities? It’s a metaphor for the human being. And in heaven you are always known as an individually unique expression of the divine.
Think of it this way. Your name does not define the body. Your name is a sound that honors a unique frequency of consciousness that no one else has emanated but you. Your name is like a color that no other hue of the rainbow can express. And in heaven you are always known as an individual expression, and honored that way, and the name will always be given to you and you will always answer to it. It’s just a matter of what you believe about it.
So, in effect, the journey of awakening isn’t like, I do not answer to a name! It’s just, I no longer believe really crappy things about the name.
You’re not the one who’s liberated from your name. You’re the one that liberates the name from your past. Does that make sense? Liberation is when your name is free of your past. Because when you’re in ego, people go, Hey, so and so! And the subconscious mind goes, Oh, God, they’re talking about my past! And that’s when you try to hide and justify.
When you wake up, your name is freed from your past. It’s beautiful. Because your name is a unique phrase or a sound that defines a frequency and consciousness that no one else can embody but you. So keep your name. Just like all of your ideas.
Accept that everything is here to be welcomed as manifestations of the divine. People that are lost in the human condition forget this is a divine orchestration. People that know it’s a divine orchestration and welcome everything to participate in the divine orchestration are on a spiritual journey. Same life, different perspective.
And when you have that simple understanding, spirituality can be a source of fulfillment, it can be a source of inspiration, it can be a source of joy, it can be a source of profound experiences, but it doesn’t have to be nauseating.
It can be where you derive your courage from. A courage that is innocent in nature, that invites you to explore the fact that when the heaviest emotions, when the most unforeseen circumstances, when the most… unfortunate of outcomes enter your field, if you are willing to open up, surrender and step into it and look directly into the center of whatever adversity is here, you’ll be surprised to find, all you will see is endless, transcendent beauty. And you will realize that in looking into the center of anything you see or feel, you are actually peering into the endless depths of yourself. And it is there where you will meet yourself — to remember yourself once again, but not in any way you have ever imagined yourself.
For those that wish to look deep into life and not hold back are those who wind up diving head first back into themselves. You want to remember who you are? Dive in. You want to take your time? Take all the time you need. No rush.
Eventually, you’ll dive in.
That’s the only thing you were born to do, is dive in.
And no matter what these words inspire in you, I can feel and I can tell that you’re all sensing the energy that they are bringing forth. The energy that these words are bringing forth is the energy of divinity. And when I say divinity, I’m referring to you.
