Catherine from Melbourne writes:
As a third-generation woman of Irish heritage, born and bred in Melbourne, Australia, I share my experience since Covid first surfaced, 18 months ago, and how the heavy-handed overreach of the government has impacted the daily lives of so many.
I’ll try to give a subjective view of life here, because our previously vibrant, cosmopolitan society, rich in the arts, sports, etc. has been decimated, and many have descended into apathy and stress (common in prisoners)
This is a fear program, which has been directed at the trusting, citizens of Victoria, headed by our State Premier, Daniel Andrews. No other Australian state has been impacted so heavily.
Sadly people have come to accept COVID as almost the equivalent to the Bubonic Plague! They have learned to love Big Brother and obey the daily orders from Dictator Dan without question.
People are told continually at the daily press conferences “I am keeping you safe” and I am almost sure, they inwardly thank him, chatting amongst themselves what a wonderful job he is doing. They parrot exactly what they are told on TV with a glazed expression on their face.
Since day one back in March 2020, people were bombarded with the C word. I noticed every time I put on the radio, TV, it was used in every sentence. I believe the citizens were subjected to MK Ultra propoganda, which has been utitilised by the CIA (and Hitler in his coercion of the German people). It is a sure way to capture the people, mind control. It is used subliminally in advertising also.
I believe they are under a “spell” or “Stockholm Syndrome,” a psychological response wherein a captive begins to identify closely with his/her captor, as well as their agenda and demands.
I studied at school, many decades ago,“Clear Thinking,” but logic and common sense is not referred to these days. The fact that 99.9% of covid cases recover draws a blank response from most people AND interestingly the safe, effective remedy for covid was BANNED in Australia. Also there was no death from flu or other usual causes recorded in the statistics. Hmmm?
People view with bated breath the daily press conferences, and find out what they ARE and ARE NOT allowed to do. It is at these press conferences that people learn – “freedoms” are not rights, but gifts bestowed upon them by premiers, where police complain of “illegal family gatherings.”
The fines are the big stick to keep all those naughty people in line – up to $5000 each for visiting someone. Amongst the nonsense – one is forbidden from visiting a relative in their home, but it is ok to visit the local brothel or bottle shop.
Melbourne today – 10th October 2021, is the same city voted “The World’s Most Livable City” It is the home of The Melbourne Cup, The Grand Prix. It is now almost deserted – its magnificient botanical gardens, tree-lined, majestic wide roads with quaint trams trundling along, stadiums, theatres, hotels – all empty – except the Police, who patrol the central city, ensuring citizens are not gathering. They have a menancing, threatening presence. Melbourne is a Ghost Town. Thousands of businesses closed for good and many thousands of people are jobless.
Personally, it was shocking to witness the armored personnel carriers with Police in full riot gear, driving past the GPO, in Elizabeth Street, last month, after 4 days of protests. They were very threatening, a visual nightmare, and they were prepared to shoot rubber bullets into the crowd. And that they did.
There is NO peaceful protest allowed here in Melbourne. The people are banned from the streets in groups, and in the previous days when protestors did gather, thousands of jobless, frustrated, angry people, wanting their voices to be heard, were dismissed as “rabble” or trouble makers.
The media has become a cheer squad for the blunt instrument of lockdown, even falsifying events, to suit their narrative against the people. A source within the Police Force (Acting Senior Sergeant Krystle Mitchell) has said publicly that “Dictator Dan” is using the police to support himself, not the people.
A few examples of abuse. A woman in her 70’s walking alone, during one of the protests, with the Australian flag draped over her shoulder, wanting peace, was knocked to the ground roughly by Police. She hit her head on the hard road, became unconscious, and was alarmingly pepper sprayed in her face as she lay there helpless.
Another disgusting incident last year was when a young pregnant mother was detained in her own home, placed in handcuffs behind her back and arrested. A dangerous position for a pregnant woman. The woman Zoe pleaded her case, to the Police, asking what she had done! She kept saying she was on her way to get an Ultrasound and she would do what they asked, if they let her go.
In my own neighbourhood I visited an elderly woman I have known over 40 years, to check on her and take her a cake. She was very scared and could not open her door fully to me and kept repeating how terrible everything was and she was scared.
The children here are frightened, stressed and are being homeschooled by parents, working from home with huge pressures on them. Playgrounds were declared “not safe” for children last month, which impacted the parents with children already frustrated, especially autistic kids who need the play equipment to allay their anxiety.
I visited my friend at her home (to go walking). Unbeknownst to me her 4 grandchildren had come around on the pretence of visiting Grandfather who had been unwell. When I knocked the children were afraid it was the police at the front door so they hid. What is this doing to the younger generation?
The list of restrictions is endless and ridiculous and I have mentioned just a few instances of unlawful coercion and bullying by the government. Melbourne, sadly, is the most locked-down city on the planet – 252 days. Our Commonwealth of Australia that our forefathers fought for has been divided up, almost like different countries – we’re not allowed to cross the borders – this is the country.
We are living in a Police State, in an insane world, but I do have great hope that the people will arise and claim their rights. With wonderful men like Riccardo Bossi, Craig Kelly, Graham Hood (Qantas Pilot) and many others they will help lead us all through this challenge to our true freedom. In spite of everything I have shared here I am positive and I just KNOW that ALL IS WELL.
On top of all this Melbourne was hit by an earthquake of 6.0 magnitude Tuesday 21st September, just to rattle us a little more. It pays to have a sense of humour.
This is our greatest test – an opportunity to trust with our hearts the grace of Almighty God, in the knowing that Light has won. We must stay in our hearts above the drama unfolding and know that we are, The Strongest of the Strong. Hold and Anchor the Light, my family. God Bless us All
