1970-72: Oooo-whee! Happy days! Saying goodbye to an era
I’m an awareness writer who’s mission it is to go up with everyone else and write about it.
My life is very public.
And I just went through a rite of passage which has me feel quite introspective. May I share?
I just took the plunge and cancelled my driver’s license.
It had nothing to do with age, mental acuity, eye sight, or any other circumstance. I am perfectly fit.
And yet I had many reasons.
One, I don’t own a car.
Two, I no longer want to pay for insurance, gas, and parking if I had a car.
Three, I no longer want to drive a car in busy Vancouver. Builders keep erecting larger and larger buildings in the West End, flooding the place with traffic, and nothing about driving here appeals to me any longer.
Four, I planned for decades where I’d live when I retired and I’m living here. All shops within one-three blocks. Overlooking English Bay. A sense of belongingness (two or three miles from where I was born). I have everything I need to do my work here.
Michael has requested that I always maintain a residence here, in this City of Light. (1)
Five, I’m feeling increasingly contemplative and increasingly like reducing all sources of stress in my life. Driving would be a huge stressor.
Six, I’m getting spacey. Don’t forget. I had a vision while driving in 1987 so it isn’t as if I haven’t gone elsewhere on occasion while at the wheel of a car. (2)
I asked Michael about it and he said that I was adjusting interdimensionally in those days and thus would have had an accident. (3)
Michael has told me that most of me is in a higher dimension and the rest is…. well, I’ll let Michael tell it. What he says here I think applies to us generally.
Archangel Michael: A very large quotient, shall we say, of you is living … in the higher-dimensional realm. Then there is a part of you that is in the morass of the chaos and the lower-dimensional realm because that’s where the work is. (4)
The Lord Arcturus made a similar comment, which probably also applies to all of us and not just to me:
Lord Arcturus: The dilemma for you is that you have one foot in both worlds. You are spiritually ready to take the three-dimensional foot out and put it with the other one in the higher. (5)
Rite of Passage: In 2009 I stopped driving because I felt I’d have an accident if I continued. I’ve never driven since. I’m quite happy taking the bus and Skytrain wherever I need to. In 2026 I surrendered my license and made the move final. That’s it.
End of Rite of Passage. Fireworks please!
I’ve now made semi-permanent (I can change my status at any time) something which, when I was young, I hungered for. I’ve said goodbye to an era.
