I suggest withholding judgment on the Epstein matter and just watching it unfold. There clearly is (always) more happening and more at stake here than we’re being told about and only some real digging would seem likely to get at what that is. (Ethan does a good job of filling in parts of the picture here.)
However, whatever the issue, it’s still unusual to see folks at the top of the pyramid of power duking it out. Especially folks that we’ve bonded with like Pam (no pun intended), Kash, and Dan. In our pain, we feel an inner urge to know why.
Never mind all the issues involved, this public fracture shows us that we lack an ombuds function at the very top. A public brawl probably breaks the heart of a lot of MAGA supporters and should have been avoided – and would have been if some kind of conflict-resolution procedure was in place.
(It always seems like the lack of a conflict resolution process is what brings the enterprise down. True even here.)
