Who? Me?
When does a politician become a statesperson?
In my opinion, it begins the moment they commit finally and fully to living by the divine qualities.
They don’t have to be perfect, as Michael noted:
“If the Mother designed or desired for what you think of as perfect beings to be in the forefront of this unfoldment, then she would have done so. Part of what you are doing is showing the willingness, demonstrating the commitment to step forward in what you perceive of as imperfection or even incompleteness and to do so on behalf of the Mother.” (1)
Then there is some value to the discomfort of being imperfect publicly!
It isn’t someone’s performance that matters, in my eyes, as much as their commitment to try again and again until successful. None of us has “done this before.” But, then, neither has the world been in such direct and dire peril.

I notice that stepping forward, immediately starts a process of learning. Sticking with it accelerates the process. The sooner we step forward and begin, the sooner we’ll reach a place of adequacy and then reliability.
I think most of us believe that reaching that place will never happen and so we don’t begin. And others may shrink from the thought of so much work.
The arena where my expanding goes on is writing. And arriving at a feeling of competency took me hours every day for years, writing. All along I had no idea that this was actually going anywhere. And yet it was. I just knew that I needed to write and write in areas that, for one reason or another, hadn’t been explored before.

But back to the divine qualities….
If our purpose in life is to know who we are – and reunite with the One in the process – (2) then to act more like God, to feel what God may feel, this to me is progress on that path.
Love is what God is, so to feel more love – and I mean transformative love (3) – is to be more like God and hence “closer” to God, in my scheme of things.
The more of the divine qualities we let through, I think, the more we are “like” God and the “closer” we are to the One.
And the same with the other divine qualities.
For a politician to live by the divine qualities is for that politician to have become what I conceive of as a statesperson, fit to be a representative of or interpret that civilization – with all its idiosyncracies – to others.
