Last week I was at WISH, a shelter for sex workers in Vancouver. I intend to go there once a month and sit with whomever would like a card reading, even the staff on their breaks.
Liz came in first. She smelled really badly and was high. Her head kept falling and resting on her arms as she zoned out. Her cards reflected trauma and addiction but also her strength, her beauty, her possibility, how family is so important to her.
I feel for these beings and if they come up in my thoughts later I surround them in the Violet Flame and a soft magenta scarf like the Buddha said to do. I place one of Kwan Yin’s pink pearls in their heart for the remembrance of Who They Truly Are, and lately I’ve realized I can say, “No, no compassion” on their behalf, for rapid letting go, next stage of healing, recovery.
Addiction — and it is very rare to have a human without some kind of addiction on this planet — is the two sides of the mind in argument, the masculine and the feminine sides out of sync with each other, because of situations in the early stages of our lives.
The ones I see once a month in the core of my city often have been sexually abused; hence the repeated creation, extreme abuse of self from thoughts/feelings to the action of extreme drug addiction because the past — that we have done something wrong, that we are a disappointment — has not been let go of, Loved, balanced.
We all carry this to varying degrees. To stop the abuse, whether it is a thought or an action, Love in the moment is key; saying what the Buddha taught us, “No, no compassion” works miracles.
Where I do my other readings I remind us all of this very simple step — consciously stop the thought patterns in the moment. Young and old, we search for that peace of mind, of body, of soul.
In my readings I don’t tend to go to the future. There is too much to address in the past just so the present moment is enjoyable.
When we balance the past with non-judgement, forgiveness compassion, gratitude we lift up.
To wake up in the morning and have the feeling of being lifted up out of the quagmire of the old beliefs, then to hold that all day, is wondrous.
Call on Kwan Yin for a ride on her dragon before getting out of bed! And listen to what next level letting go there is for you . . .
Doing this our collective sacred purpose comes to the forefront, and we create a world that is safe, enjoyable for everyone — no taking sides because the two sides of our minds are at peace — all of us working happily together in the Now.
We are cherished and Loved.
