New Humanitarians: We Must Start Where We Are
Part 2/3 – Let’s Communicate!
By Shayne Laughter, ©2019
It’s been lonely, waiting for the RV. All this planning, revising, searching out and vetting information … and I can’t share a word of it with my nearest and dearest. Because it’s all a scam, you know? Crazy stuff. Haven’t seen it on Rachel Maddow or Sean Hannity so probably it doesn’t exist.
And then it happens and the relatives get their trust funds and annuities. Satisfying, but … now what? Who can I talk to about this new life? And the work I’m doing?
Where are all the other New Humanitarians?
My hope is that one or more among us will put wealth into building a social/professional platform just for those who have bounced into Ultra High Net Worth territory by means of the RV.
We need to talk to each other, friends. It’s for more than just processing this change to our lives.
We will need to share information about our many New Humanitarian projects, large and small, because it’s inevitable that there will be duplication. And we shouldn’t be competing with each other over who’s doing the best job ending homelessness.
My people will have to talk to your people about joint efforts, pooling funds, creating new trusts, or businesses that will recruit staff for transformative work we all want to see done.
Consider this, too: The movement of wealth into cleanup and transformative service projects will be more acceptable to the general public if there are several philanthropists funding it, rather than one lone gazillionaire with a mission. (That sounds like Lex Luthor territory.)
One more thing that makes me laugh for hours: This idea that maybe we need to gift each other more currency … because 100 Trillion Dollars might not be enough money! Oh, you poor thing!
Consider: When we are talking to one another and working together on big projects, there will always be enough money.
So stay in touch, will you?
