Paramahansa Yogananda once said something that changed my life and how I thought.
Yogananda said, “The absence of violence is not peace.”
I had to have a long think about that one.
I come from an abusive family, so the absence of abuse felt peaceful to me and I mistook the absence of abuse as peace for decades.
If I was a child raised in Iraq, I imagine the absence of bombs dropping overhead and soldiers firing machine guns would feel like peace.
If I was in an abusive marriage and my husband stopped beating me, I’d feel peaceful.
But the cessation of abuse is a very long way from actual peace. There’s more to it.
Peace is a state of being. There cannot be peace in my life unless there is peace in my heart, peace in my thoughts, peace in my words and peace in my actions.
Mother Teresa once said, “Peace begins with a smile.”
So how do I get to that smile? Especially if you come from an abusive environment, which most of us do—a war zone, poverty, violence, trauma, racism, repression, etc.—how do you get to peace in your heart?
It’s an inside job.
Just because I stop hurling accusations at a relative, doesn’t mean I still don’t feel resentment in my heart, which is no one’s definition of peace. I’ve had to learn to go within, pull out that resentment, sift through it, understand it, forgive it and let it go. Only then could I experience peace in my entire being, in all my cells, bones, thoughts, words and actions.
The experience of total peace has come to me over time by healing wound by wound by wound.
Fortunately for me, because my family was wracked with mental illness, turning to therapy was considered as normal as going to the supermarket. So I have turned to healers all my life to heal mental/emotional wounds.
There are countless ways to go within: The 12 Steps have helped millions, especially the sponsorship element which is part and parcel of that program; ALANON, therapy, energy healers, channels, The Course in Miracles, endless workshops, meditation, prayer, etc. Too many to list.
My therapist once said, “If a person could heal from reading a book, there would be no need of therapy. But the fact is, most people lie to themselves and others because they’re ashamed, so you need someone there with you when you go within, to help you when you lie about whatever you’re feeling, so you can heal.”
I find that to be absolutely true. I spent decades telling everybody I was fine, when in fact, I was shattered within. “I’m fine” was one of my biggest and most enduring lies. It helps me immeasurably to have a “witness” when I do inner work. Especially as that person is far more loving and forgiving than me. Self-love is something I’ve had to learn over decades and I struggle with it to this day. With self-love comes peace.
So we all need someone to help us with our issues. Linda Dillon once said, that because so many of us have gone the therapy/workshop route and done the inner work, it has been done collectively. The “100th Monkey” idea. There won’t be a need to do it anymore, especially not in 5D.
But those of us who were born and raised in 3D—whether or not we came here especially to help with Ascension—we still have wounds, imagined or not, that need to be healed. Only then can that marvelous state of peace can be achieved: Peace within and peace without.
The subject of peace is essential, especially as it is a requirement for the implementation of the GESARA law. So what will happen when the people in countries that have been fighting each other for thousands of years, finally put down their weapons? Will they instantly feel “peace” for the people in the other country? Or will they need to work on it? I don’t know.
In a channeling with Linda Dillon, I once told Divine Mother that my constant vision for the Middle East was happiness. I envision people coming together in those marvelous bazaars, drinking coffee, playing backgammon, selling their wares, bargaining, children running around playing, dogs happily barking, gorgeous flowers, delicious food, colorful carpets, etc. A tapestry of joy.
Divine Mother said, “That is also my vision for the Middle East. Please keep envisioning it. The reason there has been so much fighting there is because it is an important Light Portal. Darkness has been trying to close it for thousands of years with endless wars, but they have never been able to do it.”
After GESARA there will be a period of healing on Gaia; Globally and individually. My devout prayer is that very soon, healing Cities of Light begin to manifest and that those magnificent cities will help heal individuals, countries, planets and the Milky Way.
The Galactics have told us they have massive healing ships and are also helping towards that end: Healing Humanity and Gaia physically, mentally, emotionally and Spiritually. Let’s face it, Humans were “sliced and diced”—our DNA, chakras, minds, emotions, in so many ways— and Gaia was ravaged so horrifically she nearly died.
We “Starseeds” or “Lightworkers” came here not only to heal Gaia, but also the Multiverse. To make sure that what happened here, the depravity, perpetual wars, lack, illness, deceptions, etc., never happens again anywhere. Instead of the 3D paradigm of evolving through pain, the new paradigm is evolving through happiness. And peace.
I don’t see the period of healing lasting too long. There is going to be too much wonderful and miraculous for us to need to hang on to old 3D nightmares.
Peace and Good Will to all. That is my unceasing prayer.
