Consider these words of Werner Erhard’s, spoken perhaps forty years ago.
“We can choose to be audacious enough to take responsibility for the entire human family. We can choose to make our love for the world be what our lives are really about.
“Each of us now has the opportunity, the privilege, to make a difference in creating a world that works for all of us. It will require courage, audacity, and heart. It is much more radical than a revolution – it is the beginning of a transformation in the quality of life on our planet.” (1)
Werner was seeing something that none of us were seeing in that day and yet his words sank into me and never left me.
We can choose to be audacious enough to take responsibility for the entire human family. Is that not a result of embracing Oneness? He must have known that.
And his face was always peaceful and blissful. I’d never seen a blissful person smile before. It was a unique experience and a lifelong inspiration.
Werner, forty years later, I’ve glimpsed that world that works – that state of consciousness saturated in bliss in which, as you said, you do what works and what you do works. Forty years later, I got it. I see how the world can be made to work.
So now that enters the collective consciousness, with a thank-you delayed by forty years. I see now the source of your vision and I honor the fact that you put it out there again and again when I’m sure very few of us were getting it.
I could wax poetic and say “there is a wellspring where, if you drink deep…” Or I could say “seek sacred love in the wellspring of your own heart.” The rising energies guarantee that one day we’ll be able to find that inner spring. And when we do a love will flow that will make it easy for us to do just what Werner said – take responsibility for the entire human family.
