The Effects of Veiling
What are the effects of wearing the veil? Predominantly they have to do with memory.
The Arcturian Group tell us that “you are powerful beings of Light but when in the physical, [you] do not remember this.” (1)
Matthew Ward says that “a ‘veil’ of forgetfulness falls between the soul’s awareness and the self’s conscious knowledge [of itself] as the infant adapts to expectations of parents and later, other authority figures, peers and society.” (2)
Here again we’re told the behavioural mechanism: adapting to conditioning. So we know why the veil descends, but not how.
Matthew adds that our memories going forward are also affected: “The limitations of Earth’s third density could affect accurate memory of all subsequent experiencing.” (3)
Jesus tells us the “why” of the veil. He says that:
“God asked you, the ones that belong to the most creative, advanced and courageous part of herself, to take the veil of Ignorance.”
“In order to experience the dynamics of opposites as thoroughly as possible, you were temporarily soaked in forgetfulness about your true nature. You consented to take this plunge into ignorance, but this fact was overlaid by the veil of forgetfulness as well.” (4)
But he doesn’t explain what it means to be “soaked in forgetfulness.” However Archangel Michael does.
He told us on An Hour with an Angel that “when you have been in human form, or when you are right now in human form, what often happens is that you forget who you really are and what you are capable of. It is the awakened human that realizes.” (5) I once asked Archangel Michael what I had given up to incarnate and he replied:
AAM: Huge portions of memory.
SB: Ah – portions of memory. What else, Lord, so I can understand this?
AAM: Yes. Of course many of these, what we are speaking of, these qualities will be restored, as you know, but the ability for instantaneous creation – although you have been very masterful at creation. Make no mistake about it.
SB: In writing.
AAM: Yes.
SB: I don’t have that sense in any other regard.
AAM: But it will expand. That is what you have forfeited as it were – sacrificed, put on hold. The deepest connection and knowing of the unification and the presence of all – that is the greatest sacrifice. (6)
Saul confirms what AAM has said:
“The result of accepting that challenge, and it is indeed a challenge, is that they are on Earth with only minimal access to memories of their true nature.” (7)
Here’s how the Arcturians described the experience of being in human form to me.
“We speak in terms of all of our beings who are wearing form. … You have made a great sacrifice – to leave the reality that you truly are to condense yourself into a physical form and to move through the process of remembering to be human for you have not been human in quite a long period of what you would consider time.” (8)
The last time I personally was in terrestrial-human form was in the 15th Century. And I haven’t been on Earth very many times compared to most people. So apparently, as the Arcturians once told me, I’m even having to remember what it means to be and act human. That certainly makes sense to me and explains why I’ve looked into human behavior, as a historian, sociologist and writer, so minutely.
