It is. It actually is. (Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone. Wink, wink! Nudge, nudge!)
How is it rigged? The answer lies in what Shankara called “the longing for liberation.”
“[The] longing for liberation is the will to be free from the fetters forged by ignorance — beginning with the ego-sense and so on, down to the physical body itself — through the realization of one’s true nature.” (1)
The purpose of life is for you and I to know who we are, what our true nature is, who we are fundamentally. The game that was created long ago was that God asked us to discover who we are.
You know the answer (God).
Why did God set up the game – or lila (divine play)?? Because when one of us knows our true nature in a moment of enlightenment, God meets God. For that reason did He/She/It create life.
But knowing the answer intellectually doesn’t help.
We have to know it – no, not down to our bones. Much, much deeper than that. We have to know it even deeper than transcendentally because the angels are transcendental and they’re still plumbing the depths of that knowing.
To assist us to stay on track, God implanted in us a deep, subtidal, infinite thirst for Him/Her/It, however you think of the genderless, eternal God. That’s the rigging in the game.
Pseudo-Dionyisus describes it here:
“All things long for [God]. The intelligent and rational long for it by way of the stirrings of being alive and in whatever fashion befits their condition.” (2)
“Intelligent beings … experience desire, but this has to be interpreted as a divine yearning for that immaterial reality which is beyond all reason and all intelligence. It is a strong and sure desire for the clear and impassible contemplation of the transcendent. It is a hunger for an unending, conceptual, and true communion with the spotless and sublime light, of clear and splendid beauty.
“Intemperance then will be an unfailing and unturning power, seen in the pure and unchanging yearning for divine beauty and in the total commitment to the real object of all desire.” (3)
That thirst is always playing on us and leaves us ultimately unsatisfied by any material good, event, pleasure, etc. We feel a yawning chasm within ourselves and try to fill it with food, drink, possessions, wealth, sex, etc., but nothing does the trick for more than a short while.
We embark on a cycle of desire, fulfilling one want after another, then watching our sense of satisfaction fade away and desiring something else, always trying to fill the yawning gap.
That eternal desire can only be satisfied by one thing: God.
All that desire is in actuality is the longing for God, longing for love, or longing for liberation.
But there are secrets about life that make it’s being rigged acceptable. One is that you and I are the riggers. You and I are God and, since it’s God who rigged the game, that means we rigged it. (We’re actually both rigger and riggee.)
Most of our channeled sources refer to that longing on one occasion or another.
Let’s listen to some of the various ways it’s described. Let’s start with the chief architect, God Itself in the form of the Divine Mother, she who moves upon the waters and calls forth the firmament:
“[The longing] is part, not only of what we would call your spiritual DNA. It is also part of your physical DNA, this desire for love and nurturing to both give and to receive. It is part of your being to be able to be strong enough to carry others, not merely in the womb but to literally carry others.” (4)
Here Saul describes it as a sense of hope and an inextinguishable light placed in us by the Father.
“That sense of hope has been with you since the moment of separation, because your Father placed within you the inextinguishable Light of His Love to assure you that you were not lost, could never be lost, and to light your way Home to His loving embrace when you chose to stop playing the ridiculous games that filled you with anxiety and hid the Light of His Love from you.” (5)
Quan Yin says that all passions can be analyzed and found to be a subset of this longing.
“If you were to analyse every passionate desire that you have you would realise that the purest intention of this passion is to enhance your connection with the Creator. For example, you may desire to live in a beautiful home surrounded by abundance and splendour, could this not be a desire to be surrounded by the beauty and love of the Creator, to feel the security and protection that the love of the Creator offers?
“It is important to realise that sometimes our physical desires are actually describing many desires and needs that we have spiritually.” (6)
This longing, this inextinguishable flame, was placed within us by God when we “separated” from Him, SaLuSa of Sirius tells us.
“When you apparently split from God, He could foresee the pain and suffering that you would experience, and He installed within you an inextinguishable flame to light your way Home when you finally recognized and admitted to the intolerability of your situation.
“This flame within each of you, which you refused to see or acknowledge for so many eons and instead attempted to hide or destroy, is once more apparent to you.” (7)
Elsewhere SaLuSa called it “an innate urge to continue progressing with your spiritual evolution.” (8) On another occasion he explained that “the Creator draws all back into its Being, only to again commence further great cycles of experience.” (9)
“The energy of evolution has to have a goal as otherwise your efforts would be aimless and non-productive. Fortunately that inner drive towards something many know not is now becoming clear.” (10)
SaLuSa’s colleague Diane of Sirius referred to it as “a natural urge to seek what is known within your sub-consciousness.” (11) Ker-on of Venus called it “a compulsive drive towards obtaining knowledge about everything within the great Cosmos.” (12) There are so many different ways the masters describe it.
“In this planet, in the universe, throughout the creation of the Mother/Father One, what people call instinct or drive is truly, there is only one drive, oh there is a drive to maintain human life, to eat, to sleep, but that is not what I am talking about.
“The drive is to love, the yearning is to experience love, to give love, to receive love, and to know not only that you are loved and lovable, but that you are the essence of love. And you are at a point my sweet family where that knowing is upon you.
And one of the things that is occurring in that growth, in that expansion, in that becoming, in the Shift, in Ascension, it matters not what you call it, is that the yearning for love and the love of your sacred self has become persistent, consistent, undeniable. It has become a driving force and to this I say, ‘Halleluiah.’” (13)
On another occasion, Jesus reminded us that many lightworkers have “remembered that you had always had an indescribable yearning.” (14)
Here is Archangel Michael in 2013 sharing the secret:
“You have one drive that is embedded within you, within your core, and that is to be loved, to love, and to be the essence of love. And in that drive is, ‘I will do anything to keep me on my journey back home, because what I am really afraid of is the separation.’” (15)
Here he is describing it as a divine discontent:
“The Soul entity is … ready to begin the process of ‘reunification and integration’ for the current cosmic round of Creation. The Soul Self is gradually infused with a Divine discontent which slowly filters into the consciousness of the human mind.
“Hopefully, that is when the human entity begins to turn inward, to tame the ego personality and reconnect with the Soul, the resident OverSoul/Higher Self, as well as with the multiple facets of Its greater Self.” (16)
Notice his contention that, when the divine discontent arises, the individual makes the basic spiritual movement of turning from the exterior to the interior, turning from the world to God. He continues:
“At some point in every person’s Soul journey throughout time and space, there is a yearning to return to the higher realms – a Divine discontent sets in that cannot be denied.
“First you must become aware of the voice of your conscience. The whispers of your Soul will grow louder and more distinctive as you begin to pay attention to the call of Spirit. A sensitivity grows within your feeling nature as you become attuned to higher vibrational patterns of people, places, thoughts and actions. Eventually you will learn to distinguish the Soul Song vibrations of your Soul family, and of the different Masters and Angelic Beings.” (17)
He’s describing stages in our response to the longing for liberation, stages like listening to our own small, inner voice and then to the higher beings for direction and comfort.
SaLuSa let it slip in 2012 that “regardless of whether you have it now or not, you have an inner drive that is always urging you onwards. The dark powers would prefer that you do not become aware of it, and go to great pains to keep you in the dark. However, many are coming into the Light.” (18)
Not everyone awakens to the yearning at the same time, he says.
“Some souls will carry on drifting around and be quite content to watch the world go by. Their pace of progress is clearly a lot slower than most other peoples, but that has no bearing on their ability to eventually experience upliftment.
“The fact is that all souls have DNA genes that give them the impetus to seek the truth, and that will inevitably cause them to continue searching for it. The urge usually comes with wondering about the purpose of life, and this carries them forward on a long journey of adventure.” (19)
Saul described it in 2009 as “the will to move in that direction [of spiritual growth or development] has always been anchored deep within you. It was placed there by God when you chose to make and experience your illusory, separated reality of pain, suffering, and fear, so that you could never be truly lost.” (20) Elsewhere he said:
“Buried deep within each human is a knowing that that is the destination toward which they are traveling. For ages, it has appeared to be a state of being that is to all intents unattainable. And yet a desire, a deep longing to return there remains, providing the unquenchable hope that drives the search to find that heavenly state.” (21)
And again in 2011.
“Your search for meaning in your human lives is a search for that divine state, which, within the illusion, is inaccessible to you. You are, as humans, so shut down and limited that even the concept of God’s Love entirely escapes you, leaving you with an anxious and inexpressible longing that can drive you to despair, because you appear to be such tiny and insignificant beings of very little worth in the overall scheme of things. …
“In your intense desire to find meaning in your lives you are turning to the Light within you, which beckons continually, and you are seeking its guidance to lead you Home. You have spent eons ignoring It or hiding from It, but It has waited patiently in the knowledge that eventually you would turn to It and allow It to lead you out of the nightmare and Home to God.
“It is but an awakening from an intense and frightening nightmare into the divine Reality where, at every moment, you enjoy your eternal existence. The nudges that you are receiving to awaken you can no longer be ignored; the end of your long slumber is inevitable, and the joy when you awaken will be wondrous.” (22)
I could go on and on citing passages, but you get the point: Life is a game – and it’s rigged! The longing for liberation never, never dies within us.
It operates on us at a subterranean level, the deepest impulse we have, the impulse to know the God that we are and possess it in a supernatural way, as Jan Ruusbroec would say. (23)
So the game is fixed. But don’t tell anyone.
We cannot escape our eventual “reunion” with God. We may as well throw up our hands in despair. Not one being can successfully evade eventual bliss.
So much for rugged individualism, pulling ourselves up by our own bootstraps, and looking out for number one. Our return passage has been booked and we’re bound for glory, whether we like it or not.
