Many of us are aware of the increasing frequency of love on the planet as light energies are sent our way from other regions of space and other dimensions. As our planet is bathed in these energies, new potentialities open up for us and new knowledge is born. I’d like to talk about one of those new potentialities – collective compassion.
We’re aware of some of the milestones in the growth of collective consciousness on our planet. In the late nineteenth century, sociologist Emile Durckheim crystallized the notion for us.
“The term has specifically been used by social theorists/psychoanalysts like Durkheim, Althusser, and Jung to explicate how an autonomous individual comes to identify with a larger group/structure. … We can surmise that the phrase collective consciousness implies an internal knowing known by all, or a consciousness shared by a plurality of persons.” (1)
Later Karl Jung introduced the notion of a collective unconscious, which he described in the following manner:
“In addition to our immediate consciousness, which is of a thoroughly personal nature and which we believe to be the only empirical psyche (even if we tack on the personal unconscious as an appendix), there exists a second psychic system of a collective, universal, and impersonal nature which is identical in all individuals. This collective unconscious does not develop individually but is inherited. It consists of pre-existent forms, the archetypes, which can only become conscious secondarily and which give definite form to certain psychic contents.” (2)
Archangel Michael has recently brought forth a notion of “collective compassion” as a new potentiality and I’d like to allow him the opportunity to explain it to us. We had our first brief discussion of it in a reading in early March 2012 but I asked him to go into the subject in more detail in a reading on March 28. He said:
Archangel Michael: Collective consciousness, which is a given, is a series of belief systems and, hopefully as you evolve, truths that you come to know.
But compassion is the expression of collective love, collective understanding for the situation that you find not only each other in but as a collective. You find yourself in a situation right now for example of massive change.
And what that calls forth beyond the consciousness is the compassion, the understanding that you are in this process together and that you are not judging it, that you are understanding it, that you are supporting each other in various ways but that you are doing so not to fix it for somebody else but to support them in their journey of addressing whatever it is.
So the entire collective has need to address this wonderful possibility of ascending together but that requires the collective coming together compassionately – in compassion, in love. Not just for this group or that group or this understanding or that understanding but for the totality. (3)
This conversation had come about because I was feeling exhausted and asked him what was causing this. He said that it was due to the fact that I was connecting with collective compassion but did not know how to work with it. In this later reading, I asked him what should be done to avoid becoming exhausted.
Steve: So how should we work [with collective compassion] so that we don’t become drained?
AAM: How you work with collective compassion is very much the way you work with individual compassion only on a much larger scale obviously. And it is to not assume the burdens, the issues, the journey of the collective.
Now we have talked about this. Let me give you a very concrete example. If we were having this conversation about the collective, say, oh, a decade ago, I would say to you, dear heart, clear your own issues, your own burdens, your own debris, your own vasanas, but do not assume that you are clearing for the collective for it was not time to do that.
In the past three to four years, there has been a great deal of joint, or conjoint collective clearing. And you have seen this as you have seen issues emerge at the same time all over your planet, such as the demand for freedom or financial equality. And those issues have come to the forefront for clearing and many of the collective have been clearing together.
But when you are in collective compassion you do not go and start assuming any of the burdens. We want to bring that to a close. You may look at some of the issues or what is occurring with compassion. But do not assume it is yours to take on.
S: Don’t go that far?
AAM: That is correct. (4)
I then asked him what might be done to bring the notion of collective compassion to public attention.
S: Alright. Now what are the best ways for people to come into contact with collective compassion. A planetary meditation, or a day of discussion, or a march?
AAM: Planetary meditation is wonderful. A planetary day. We have had such days you and I together.
S: When was that, Lord?
AAM: When we brought to the forefront the Declaration of Human Freedom. (5) Such a declaration of collective compassion [might involve] a day when people can consciously enter into the energy because they decide to. It is that simple, you know. To be in their hearts and to feel the empathy, the understanding, the love, but not the assumption [of burden] because we do not advise for any of the collective to be assuming anything more. (6)
Just as we have a longing for liberation, so we also have a longing for reunification with the group, Archangel Michael tells us through Ronna Herman, which grows with evolution.
“The Soul has a natural inclination toward group-consciousness. It is the Soul which seeks reunification, not the ego personality. Advancement on the path increases Soul consciousness and group awareness.” (7)
I predict that we’ll come to see four processes as linked: (A) the expansion of individual consciousness, (B) the rise of group consciousness, (C) the increase of our desire for unification, and (D) the rise of collective compassion. Archangel Michael seems to suggest as much in these remarks again through Ronna:
“The call of reunification is beginning for many of you, whereby your refined Soul Song is reaching various members of your God Self. As you refine your vibrational patterns and your Energetic Signature reaches a certain level of harmony, your Soul Song will begin to reverberate out into and through the fourth, into the fifth and for some of you, possibly even into the sixth dimensions, and very gradually into the auric fields of some of the Soul Fragments of your Higher Self.
“Slowly, as these blessed facets of your Self become aware of you, they will begin the process of moving into alignment with you. Those whose resonance is lower than yours will fall into line below you, and those who are on the Path ahead of you will slowly move into the column of Light above you. You will also be moving laterally, as well as higher, into the refined realms as all of the fragments of your I AM Presence gradually begin the process of moving closer and closer to your central column of Divine Light.” (8)
I find support for this prediction in studies of the afterlife where we’re told that the higher one rises in consciousness, the more the attraction to the soul group grows. Here’s Frederic Myers, onetime President of the Psychical Research Society, on that development. While he doesn’t mention collective compassion directly, he does say that souls are “becoming one in experience and in mind,” which sounds close to me.
“The higher the ego climbs on the ladder of consciousness, the nearer it draws to other kindred souls. I have already told you that there may be a thousand, a hundred, or merely twenty souls all fed by one spirit. Their consciousness of comrade-souls increases on the higher levels of existence. In time they are able to enter into the other souls’ memories, perceive their experiences and be sensible of them as if they were theirs. Mind becomes communal in the last stages, for the spirit, the unifying principle, is tending all the time to produce greater harmony, and therefore greater unity. These various individuals are merging more and more, becoming one in experience and in mind, and thus attaining to undreamt-of levels of intellectual power. (9)
Thus the higher we evolve, the more we desire to join and later merge with the soul group. The rise of collective compassion is attendant upon our expansion of consciousness, which is itself occurring because of the Earth’s bombardment with increasing energies of light and love.
It’s interesting that, at the same time that Archangel Michael was addressing this matter, a group called the Star Elders was also discussing it in a channeled message from Aluna Joy. They may use slightly different language and refer to the matter from a little different standpoint, but the development they describe comes down to about the same thing, I think.
“Another large wave we see that you might experience profoundly is the June 6th [2012] Venus transit. For the last 8 years, your collective consciousness has been building a model for a unified, universal heart. This process began on the last Venus transit on June 8th, 2004. This new unified, universal heart model will be downloaded into the new operating system. The collective unified heart will be anchored. Any place where there is not love expressed, it will be shaken to its core.
“This will cover everything including your personal relationships all the way to global governmental systems. This new down load will make selfish acts nearly impossible to achieve. In other words, we will begin to think, act and live in the knowing that there is no separation and all life is connected. We will not be able to make a choice without considering the whole and future generations.
“This new heart model will take several weeks before it is fully anchored. The universe is loving and kind and will allow this heart transformation download slowly so you can readjust with each daily heart pulse. Breathe . . . surround yourself with loving, positive, like-minded souls. This will make your heart transformation a joyful experience instead of a painful one.
“But we see that this will be somewhat uncomfortable for everyone to a certain extent, as this new heart program has never been experienced in a human form before. This program has been long awaited by so many of you that already consider your actions and the future reproductions of these actions. Thank you for holding this space open for this program to down load. You are and will be successful.” (10)
In summary, as we move away from duality and polarity toward unity, the desire to join and later merge with the soul group arises and, with it, collective compassion.
As we feel collective compassion for the first time, we must learn how to work with it so that we don’t end up drained.
Nevertheless, it’s humanity’s future to move deeper and deeper into unitive consciousness and with it ever more inclusive levels of collective compassion. Expanded consciousness, the desire to meet and merge with the soul group, the desire for ever more unified levels of existence, and collective compassion all appear linked and seem to expand and increase together.
