We don’t need degrees in Anthropology to know that certain expressions and gestures are universal.
A smile, a tear, an upraised, open palm are all recognized worldwide as gestures of happiness, sorrow, and greeting.
And offering thanks for something given or gifted is also recognized around the world as something kind and appropriate, closing the loop in the giving/receiving circle.
At some point in the future, all of us will be self-sufficient. We’ll have the ability to create what we need, as SaLusa reminds us: Where we’re bound for is “dimensions where by pure thought you are the Creators of whatever you desire.” (1) And we’ll need far less than we do now.
But we’re at the tag end of the cycle in which giving and receiving is still basic to our way of life.
We here at the Nova Earth Foundation have you to thank for keeping the team together through what has been a long wait. It isn’t completely over yet but the end is in sight.
Because of you, team members are considering their plans to extend their operations into TV, project funding, services to the needy, workshops. One team is planning to travel widely and simply listen to people.
Everyone is stirring and thinking of the thanks they owe to you.
I may be wrong, but one of the experiences I think this world was set up for was to see how people would behave under conditions of scarcity and limitation. Would a circle form in which one expressed concern and gave to the next, the next received and gave thanks, and then the next gave to another, and so on?
Would people share or would they do otherwise? Well, we know that experiment went quite a bit awry, but now the spiritual mentors of this world have returned and are helping us remember the ways of divine living and telling us that school will soon be over and an endless summer vacation begin.
A vacation with a difference because we’ll all be empowered to carry that work that they did with us to the rest of the world. We’ll be financially enabled to begin the process of gifting and sharing on a much larger scale than has ever happened on this planet before.
Robert Fulghum told us all we needed to know – just what we learned in kindergarten…
- Share everything.
- Play fair.
- Don’t hit people.
- Don’t take things that aren’t yours.
- Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody. (2)
Now that we’re about to pass out of the grade school of life, so to speak, we’ll enter that same world of spiritual adults, the kind of folks who spend countless years looking after a planet and all its residents, who are only distant kin to them.
But those we’ll help will be closer kin to us and we haven’t years to give to the job of getting them back on their feet before the graduation ceremonies for all of us.
I give thanks for the Divine Plan. I give thanks for all the beings who have brought us this far and are now pouring out their love on us that we may be empowered to take over and drive the bus the rest of the way.
I give thanks for our unity community, our rainbow coalition, our golden children and rainbow children and all the indigos who ran the first mile and will some day pass the baton to them.
I give thanks for the friends I’ve met, some after being centuries apart – but recognized instantly.
And I give thanks knowing that you’re out there and that we’ll all join up for the next leg of the journey, filled to the brim with love and raring to go.
It’s time to build a new world and I give thanks for being allowed to be a part of it.
