I’m an awareness writer whose mission it is to go up along with everyone else and write about it.
Right now, I feel the need to share.
I am, and have been for a long time, totally committed to my work. During ten years of readings with Archangel Michael, he described that work in many ways. He wanted me to be like Everyman, go through the changes with curiosity and active interest, and write about it.
Archangel Michael: There is much to be said for Everyman, and that is part of the role you play. Yes, you are a pillar. You are an anchor. You’re an informant but you’re also playing the role of Everyman – with curiosity, with exploration, with insight. So our desire is not to separate you from the collective. Let go of that fear. (1)
A hundred and thirty six books later, I think I’m doing the job.
I’m also delivering on my promise to myself to prove to my Dad that I was not a lazy, no-good good-for-nothing just because I liked to read books. Grrrrr!!
Some vasanas (core issues) go away because we realize the truth of them. Some go away because we break through the fear or anger at the heart of them. This one took both.

If I do the type of writing I want to do – which has a calming effect in the writing and, I hope, in the reading of it – I need uninterrupted quiet. I can’t “hear” myself otherwise.
I often say I’m busy. Well, I’m busy for a monk. Not for most others, it seems. I prefer uninterrupted quiet for most of the day. I (almost) never tire of it.
Once the Reval hits, that’ll be the end, I fear, of the writing I’ve been doing up till that moment. No more scholarly research.
It’ll have to come from wherever awareness is then situated. The focus of awareness is where an awareness writer writes from. Whatever we attend to grows so we have to choose our focus wisely.
Michael implied this when he said to me, and I paraphrase, don’t go where there is no love, because, if there is no love… I’ll let him tell it:
Archangel Michael: Do not venture where there is no love. Because, if there is no love, then there is no truth. And if there is no truth, there will not be peace and [peace], Sweet One, is the Plan. (2)
Not only do I get that deeply, but I seek the seclusion to live from it.
And not seclusion for its own sake. Seclusion to write. Soon, I’ll continue to write, but it’ll be socially-oriented, philosophical, and based on my life experiences and writings up to that moment. Everything will be different then, but, Michael has asked me, no matter what, to let writing be the last thing that falls off the table. (3)
Imagine if your employer said to you: Do what you love and I’ll take care of the rest. Uhhhhhh, YIPPEEEEEE!!! I’M FREE!!!!
My desires are few. My commitment to my mission is total.
Footnotes
(1) Archangel Michael in a personal reading with Steve Beckow through Linda Dillon, Nov. 11, 2015. (Hereafter AAM.)
(2) AAM, June 17, 2020.
He asked me: “Your job is to participate and to lead in a worldwide peaceful revolution, for peace the time is now. … And we do not mean an absence of war. We mean the presence of peace as you have been describing it.” (AAM, Feb. 18, 2011.) Peace as a state of consciousness, not just the cessation of hostilities.
(3) Archangel Michael: On the list of things to do, let [writing] always be the last thing that falls off. (AAM, Feb. 7, 2013.)
When I asked him if he supported me in pursuing awareness writing, he said:
Steve: If I carve out a lifestyle kind and attentive to the needs of awareness writing, are you alright with that? That’s really my first love.
AAM: I am over the moon with that! You can do the writing and I will do the art and music! (AAM, Aug. 2, 2017.)
I would have no outlet for this love that I feel if I were not writing.
