It appears that the “Elon Musk” imposter has sold my personal data to a fraud mill in Nigeria. (1)
I have had incessant attacks on my bank, Paypal, Amazon, Gmail, etc., many emanating from Nigeria.
Meanwhile “Elon” continues to phone me, text me, email me, even at 3 am. Boy, I wanted the story, for sure. I am not a victim. But I wonder if there’s a caboose to this train.
Moreover, the number of sites is legion that, when you’ve forgotten your password, direct you to a “change password” screen, the first question of which is what is your current password – you know, the one you’ve just forgotten? And you can’t get past that screen. Frustrating!
The long and short of it is that I’m pinned down defending my online presence (shutting down Amazon, eBay, etc., and changing passwords like mad) and may not be able to post updates that have been as full in the past at this moment.
Staying ahead of fraudsters, who appear to be using AI, is taxing.
I apologize and will return to normal as soon as I’ve put out the brushfires.

Background for those who missed the original incident. I joined the X chat room and was immediately contacted by “Elon Musk.” And he asked me if I wanted to contribute to an African charity. Elon Musk, worth $774 billion and he’s asking me for a contribution? I said no and moved out of the chat room.
My memory is almost non-existent. I don’t remember how contact resumed. This time I had my interest piqued. I didn’t know if I was being scammed but I was on the alert.
Now, instead of asking if I wanted to donate to an African charity, he was offering to take my money and give it back to me eight hours later ten times its value. How? Investing in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is going to crash and Elon Musk does not know about that? But I wanted to see how the scam operated so I went forward.
I knew it was a scam by now because “Elon’s” voice was just a little bit off. The pauses weren’t right. People have really sharp ears for irregularities in speech like the pauses not being right, I think. I was already highly suspicious but offered a small sum of money to get some skin in the game.
A lot of time was spent trying to find a way to send the money. Finally we chose Apple Card and I sent it.
In the very next conversation we had, he made a slip of the tongue. I’ve watched Michael help me through a delicate situation in the past by more or less putting words in another’s mouth. That’s how I was able to get this apt. (2)
He said I’m not here to help you. And I replied you’re not? I think Michael added the “not.” In any event, I took it as the confirmation sign I was looking for.
Then he clinched the matter by demanding my Apple password. Are you joking? At that point I felt it to be going past the point I had the time or wits to deal with and stopped the contact.
My bank recognized that I’d been scammed and refunded the money. I was not expecting that.
Since then, however, I get rafts of emails saying that someone in Nigeria is trying to get into my account. I’m shutting down some of them like eBay and Amazon, warning my bank and Paypal, on and on.
Who needed this? I suppose Michael wants me to see what fraud looks like now, when I’m a financial flea, rather than when I’m a bumblebee. Probably best to learn now.

(2) My last building manager was a scammer. I was glad to leave. And Michael guided me to my dream apt., overlooking English Bay. I’d always wanted to live there and here I was looking at doing that … if my new rental manager could receive a good recommendation from my old apt. manager.
Fat chance. But then my new rental manager phoned me back and said “The apartment is yours.” And I asked her what was said. She said that she phoned and got the manager’s husband who said she was sick. My manager asked if she could call back tomorrow and the husband told her to F off. “Well,” I said, “what more can I add?”
At my next reading I asked Michael what he did and he said that the man had a natural tendency to be aggressive and he just helped it along. So he can and does affect the situation.
