Birmingham Christmas Market
A message from Penny in the UK about Christmas this year:
This is a message of hope and reassurance from the UK! Contrary to what people may be reading about the current situation here regarding the cancellation of anything Christmas related, nothing could be further from the truth. (1)
There are some larger urban councils that have tried to push the anti-Christmas agenda. There are a handful of Christmas markets that have not gone ahead, but generally throughout most of the country things have gone ahead as usual.
Where there have been issues there has been major pushback from residents and people have been very innovative in their ability to bypass any draconian ‘rules.’
I myself have spent the last three weeks visiting local village and town Christmas artisan markets and today have enjoyed the big market in Exeter, which has been there for about three weeks now.
Make no mistake, a generally compliant nation and slow to rouse, we are doing things in the way we usually do when pissed off…quietly doing our own thing whilst causing a little disruption along the way where possible!
