Nova Earth
well underway 🙂
Continuing this 3 part series, walking my neighbourhood with my granddaughter. . .
Just down the road from where I live is — I don’t have words for it — a newly built “picnic structure” covered in flowers for community socializing.
We happened to stroll by when the flowers were being discussed, samples brought by the artisans; we had no idea what a centerpiece this would be.
I heard them saying the whole structure was very expensive and I wondered then who would do this! They also said it was for local restaurants to have community dinners throughout the summer.
From a post in a local newspaper:
The South Granville Business Improvement Association has unveiled a first-of-its-kind place-making installation called Bloom. . . a must-visit for fans of art, flowers and architecture.
The South Granville installation adorns four forest-bathing-inspired seating pods originally conceptualized by HCMA and built in collaboration with the City of Vancouver, Fast + Epp Engineering, Great Northern Way Scene Shop and SGBIA.
Bloom is an immersive walk-in experience that is perfect for a botanical selfie.
Local florist Botany and Bloom worked with SGBIA to create Bloom using a confetti springtime pallet and a mix of daisies, cherry blossoms, Billy Balls, anemones, peonies and more.
Extraordinary!
Our spring has been very wet; this structure’s popularity is helping revitalize the area ~ inspired creation.
