Update ~ Alana has written in to say that “2 people have died from the fires at Kangaroo Island & it is currently still burning.” It looks like things have taken a shift for the worse ~

Thanks to Andrew for his message of appreciation and the wonderful news that “Rain has begun in Kangaroo Island last night midnight!! 6 hrs after the first prayer time.”
Great encouragement for ramping it up!
The article linked below makes Key points:
- A cool change came through South Australia last night
- The threat from fires on Kangaroo Island has reduced
- Significant property losses are expected
“Once we saw those conditions ease around midnight–1am we saw the southerly impact start to slow down and with that the relative humidity came up to around 85 per cent across the island so that did significantly help with the decreasing the fire behaviour.”
“The rain had “greatly assisted” in dampening the fire’s ferocity.”
Kangaroo Island bushfire threat reduced as change comes though but losses expected ~
And notes of appreciation for this collective endeavor ~
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for Australia. I have never seen it so prolonged or so bad. People escaping the shore by boat. I felt that it was just some cleansing we in this country had to go through. With your help and appeals, I realise that it is a global clearing event. Many many are suffering life changing events.
The animals are not so lucky. Koalas never drink water but they are being found burnt and singed and drinking water when they can.
The rain would be very welcome. Here in Brisbane it has been dry with only a couple of summer storms for example. Normally we get them every week in summer. The animals are parched. They need some help.
Thank you and God bless.
Andrew
And another note of thanks ~
On behalf of Aussies, thanks for coordinating the worldwide prayer.
There are fires in all States, and South Australia and Queensland are still struggling particularly, too. Some Canadian firefighters have arrived in Queensland to assist, as Aussies came to assist them a few years in the recent past.
I personally am okay in Melbourne, but the air is very smoky even here. In the National capital, Canberra, the smoke is so bad that the air quality is currently the worst anywhere in the world.
I’ve been wondering whether the ‘things are going to get intense’ is manifesting as this for Australia- Whereas other countries may be dealing with more political issues or other Earth disasters. I really hope this is a final clearing for the country as fires and heat have been building in recent years. The country, its people and its animals need to break through this pattern. It is far from joyful.
Thanks again
Lyn
