Vasanas go deep, deep, deep.
Nevertheless, the Self is to be found in a deeper recess of the heart than the vasanas. I use the term “seat of the soul” as its location, to point to it being deep within the heart.
Vasanas are like electrodes attached to our body. When a thought or feeling triggers one of them, we get a shock. We get defensive. Or we get argumentative. Or we feel offended. Etc. And away goes conflict.
All we see of course is the other person’s reactions so our story only contains what was done to us as the reason for what we did. We usually leave ourselves out of the picture. (1)
You know I resort to looking blameless when conflict arises. (2)
We usually don’t take responsibility for the triggering mechanism (our vasana) or the other person’s responses. And their story is often the reverse of our own.
The day that I went below the level upon which the vasanas exist, I was actually meditating to find the origin of an upset I was having. Where did this vasana originate? What was the original incident that caused the trauma?
I think I was upset because I’d watched a video on pedophilia. But, when I visualized myself going down to find its origin, I found myself in an elevator bound for the deepest reaches of the heart. I just “went for it.”
I vividly recall passing the layer of consciousness that I’d characterize as the realm of the vasanas.
I left that far behind in this fantastic voyage into the heart.
I also remember feeling better and better the more we descended. It was as if I was leaving the craziness of the surface behind.
Then I left the elevator and whizzed along a tunnel. The Self came into view at the end of it.
Remember that I did not intend to see the Self. I did not seek it. I sought the origins of the vasana.
In looking at it, I expected to see a light brighter than a thousand suns. No, it was luminous, not bright.
In its presence I felt innocent and pure. Gone were doctrines like “original sin.” Proven were theories like “original innocence.” I was overjoyed to feel these ways and to have this Reality proven and demonstrated.
I had a reading a few days after I returned. Archangel Michael described what happened:
“So, we have unplugged you and, yes, it took some time and shall we say, a few shocks and jolts. But what you have done, is you have journeyed to the depths of your soul, to the depths of your core.
“This is not about simple vasanas. This is what this channel literally terms, ‘core, core, core issues.’
“And you have discovered, not lack, not criticism, not error, but beauty. Underneath the dross is the full beauty, the power, the gentleness, the sweetness of who you are. …
“What you have discovered underneath that is the yearning, of innocence, of the sweetness and, yes, the purity that the Mother has filled you with, with her tsunami. And inside the purity is clarity, is love and so you have reached a deeper level, a higher level, a broader level of understanding.” (3)
That captures it a hundred percent.
Notice his admission that “we” unplugged me, got me to Xenia, engineered the experience. Notice the role the celestials play in our enlightenment experiences. (So don’t forget to ask them for help. Invite them. Invoke them.)
Since then I discussed the matter with the Divine Mother and she acknowledged that the event was toned down. The Self was not brighter than “a million, billion suns,” she said, as it is in Reality. The toning down was done so I wouldn’t wander off to a cave and finish the job but stay and do the work I’d agreed to do. (4)
But none of that is to the point. The point is that I demonstrated to myself, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the Self is to be found in the deepest recesses of the spiritual heart. Just as all the scriptures say. They are literally true. I the Lord dwell in the heart. Fools walk by my throne, here in the heart. They know me not.
The heart lies on the other side of the heart aperture or hridayam, which remains closed in most people. The hridayam is located two digits right of the sternum. It’s the bridge between our everyday reality and the higher dimensions of consciousness to be found within the heart.
The culmination of Ascension is a full and permanent heart opening, called Sahaja Samadhi.
It’d be true to say that the Self shines as the Light in the heart. Or to advise one to seek the Self in the lotus of the heart. Or to observe that the Light/the Fire is always burning on the altar of the heart. All of these statements would be true.
If there ever was a treasure map, “x” on the heart marks the spot. Reproduced from the memory of a fantastic voyage.
Your experience may not be toned down, as mine was. It all depends.

(4) Steve: The experience at Xenia, Mother, was that truncated?
Divine Mother: Slightly, yes.
Steve: I had the thought [it was]. … The Light I saw should have been brighter than a thousand suns. The fact that it wasn’t suggests to me that the experience was truncated. …
DM: It was not as brilliant as possible, let us put it that way.
Steve: Alright… And again, the reason is to keep me in sync with my readers?
DM: It is to keep you in sync with your readers… But let me be very clear about that. If you had seen the light as it actually is, yes, a million, billion suns… You would have simply departed. …
We don’t mean die but you would have departed the life that you have designed – yes, with us, for yourself, for the service you are providing – you would have departed and simply said, “I do not need to do this. I will just simply sit in the bliss of love and good luck, everybody!” (Divine Mother in a personal reading with Steve Beckow through Linda Dillon, Oct. 26, 2018.)
