What’s the basis of individual sovereignty?
The basis of God’s sovereignty is that (1) God is everything that exists and does not exist; (2) God is the creator of all that lives; and (3) God is all-powerful in or out of creation.
The creation mostly doesn’t know or realize that God has all power over it, but that doesn’t change the situation.
In this created world, we ourselves are – each of us – like a miniature kingdom. Our fields, our energy bodies, whatever it is that makes us up is and are the realm, domain or kingdom/queendom over which we rule.
Our sovereignty is based on and derives from two matters: (1) We are a part of God and (2) we are individuals.
We are a Part of God
Sages and prophets down through the ages have been telling us that we’re individual sparks of the One. Here are some:
The Prophet Amos: A firebrand plucked out of the burning. (1)
Krishnamurti: You are a spark of God’s own fire. (2)
Sri Yukteswar Giri: The human mind is a spark of the almighty consciousness of God. (3)
Epictetus: You are a principal work, a fragment of God himself. You have in yourself a part of him. Why then are you ignorant of your high birth? (4)
Master Hilarion: All those beings among whom you struggle on are fragments of the Divine. (5)
Milarepa: All sentient beings possess a ray of the Eternal. (6)
Our ultimate aim is to be reunited with Mother/Father God – to drop our individuality and be One again. Here’s St. Paul referring to the moment of consummation:
“And when all things [all worldly desires] shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son [the Self, the individuated spark] also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all [i.e., reunited].” (7)
Thus we start out as the One; we individuate on the wishes of the One; we travel through time and out of time, learning our true identity; when we learn it completely, we cease to be individuals, having reunited with the One. (8) From God to God, in a great circle. (9)
The basis of our sovereign authority over the kingdom of us is – in part – that we are divine in nature and origin.
We are Individuals
It’s also in part that we’ve been created as individuals, hidden in a series of bodies, with our divine memories wiped, for the purpose of having us inquire into and realize our true identity. When any of us realizes our true identity, God meets God. And so that God could meet itself is the reason for creation in the first place.
To play our part in that cosmic lila or play, we needed first to individuate.
Being an individual is not a missed mark or mistake. It was always meant to be temporary. We pass from that individuality into oneness in some far distant future when we’ve entirely solved the mystery of existence (who am I?). And the journey gets better the further along we go.
For as long as we’re individuals, we’re tasked with managing and directing ourselves. It’s a responsibility not given to anyone else.
Everyone else has the task of managing and directing themselves. We’re not only monarchs, but chief administrators.
The Law of Free Will expresses God’s intention to preserve our right to decide how that task of managing ourselves will be accomplished.
I am not monarch in your realm. You are not monarch in mine, by divine authority and by virtue of individual sovereignty.
Only We Violate the Free Will of Others
Our divine nature and our individuation combine to bestow on each of us sovereignty over ourselves, the right to govern us. No one in the higher dimensions would think of violating it. Our free-will choices prevail. Here are statements of that:
Archangel Michael: Your view prevails, dear heart. Even I, through this channel, guide you. At times I beg you. Sometimes I become very strong and want to direct you. But let me be very clear. Decisions and choices are yours. (10)
Archangel Michael: The paradigm of control is one of the essential paradigms that is being broken upon your planet and so any effort on the part of any being to try and control a person is going to meet with resistance. (11)
Matthew Ward: Interference would deny countless souls the karmic experiencing they chose so they can evolve, and evolvement is the goal of every soul in every lifetime. (12)
Sanat Kumara: You will never be happy. You will never move into the expanded heart consciousness. You will never know the bliss and the ecstasy. You will never be the fulfillment of who you are, your sacred design, your mission and purpose, if you persist in such behavior [as denying the free will of others]. (13)
It’s only us who think of violating the free will of others. When we do, in whatever dimension we’re in location-wise, we’re still essentially operating from Third-Dimensional paradigms.
In this case, we’re still trying to control others and decide the outcome. When we do that, we’re failing to recognize and honor the individual sovereignty of another. Evidently it’ll work less and less in the time ahead.
When I asked Archangel Michael in 2011 to assist me to write a statement on the essence of individual sovereignty, he coached me:
“Acknowledge the right of all beings to create their freedom. And if they have been disempowered, in any way, claim it for them as well. Claim it for your brothers and sisters who perhaps are not fully aware that the sovereignty is theirs. It is their birth right.” (14)
On the basis of what’s been said here, I assert that our new society – Nova Earth – needs a new global “Prime Directive” or “First Amendment.” Here’s my wording of it:
All sentient beings have the sovereign right to self-determination in all matters concerning themselves, save in situations which, on balance, promise harm to another.
And then our actions need to show our respect for that global first amendment. It needs to be honored above all else. As Michael advised: “Hold it as the brightest flame in [your] heart, allowing it to take action in [your] individual lives.” (15)
Only with it in place have we a foundation on which to build the superstructure of Nova Earth. Only with it in place can we build a world that works for everyone.

(8) More recently Archangel Michael has told me that we unite with God but we re-emerge again later, when needed. In this view the reunion is almost like a rest.
(9) As I saw it in my vision of Feb. 13, 1987, we travel in a great arc or circle from God to God, all the time spiralling around the invisible course of the arc. The spiral is due to returning to the same karmic lesson lifetime after lifetime until we learn it. However, we usually approach the problem from a progressively-higher standpoint.
The net effect is an infinite spiral resembling the nautilus’ shell, at left. The spiral follows an arc from God to God.
