Sources in other eras have discussed the Golden Age.
A friend sent around the 1944 Beinsa Douno prophecy recently. It seems to cycle around the Internet. That prophecy was written shortly before his death. In it he said:
“This phase which the Hindus call ‘Kali Yuga,’ [Dark Age] is on the verge of ending. We find ourselves today at the frontier between two epochs: that of Kali Yuga and that of the New Era that we are entering.
“A gradual improvement is already occurring in the thoughts, sentiments and acts of humans, but everybody will soon be subjugated to divine Fire, that will purify and prepare them in regards to the New Era. Thus man will raise himself to a superior degree of consciousness, indispensable to his entrance to the New Life. That is what one understands by ‘Ascension.’
“Some decades will pass before this Fire will come, that will transform the world by bringing it a new moral. This immense wave comes from cosmic space and will inundate the entire earth. All those that attempt to oppose it will be carried off and transferred elsewhere. Although the inhabitants of this planet do not all find themselves at the same degree of evolution, the new wave will be felt by each one of us. And this transformation will not only touch the Earth, but the ensemble of the entire Cosmos.” (1)
Are we not being subjected to divine fire to purify and prepare us for Ascension? The Tsunami of Love? All the energy from the Sun and from higher civilizations?
Douno actually wrote numerous “messages” about the Golden Age, which have been collected on several websites dedicated to him. He was the teacher of Omraam Mikhhael Aivanhov and a most remarkable man. (2)
There are actually a few other voices that spoke about the Golden Age or New Age or Age of Aquarius in “modern” times (1870 to the present). Some spoke in general, overall terms; others focused in on one aspect like the New Age’s spirituality.
Beinsa Douno
In the 1870s, the British medium Moses Stainton was channeling “Imperator,” a pseudonym for the prophet Malachi. Imperator and his group of 49 savants came to bring a “New Revelation” and to announce a new epoch in which the spiritual energy was rising. (3) He said:
“You are living in one of the remarkable epochs of the earth.” (4)
“You are the recipients in no ordinary degree of a great development of spirit power. The spiritual sense is increasing amongst men, and, step by step, the presence of spirit agency is manifested. The wave of spirit influence now passing over your earth is analogous to that which passed over the world during the life of Christ.” (5)
The part that Imperator and his band were to play was to present a New Revelation, doing for Christianity what Jesus had done for Judaism.
“You are gradually coming to know an Omnipresent and Omniscient Loving Father, and you will have a new revelation, which will blot out the old falsehoods and give you new ideas of God.” (6)
“That which we present for your acceptance is the complement rather than the contradiction of the old; the growth to a fuller stature; the development of a wider knowledge. (7)
“It is our task to do for Christianity what Jesus did for Judaism. We would take the old forms and spiritualise their meaning, and infuse into them new life. Resurrection rather than abolition is what we desire. We say again that we do not abolish one jot or one tittle of the teaching which the Christ gave to the world.
“We do but wipe away man’s material glosses, and show you the hidden spiritual meaning which he has missed.” (8)
Imperator’s group was joined by many others in the work of preparing the people of the Earth plane for the harvest.
“What comes to you from us is coming to others too. This is but one among many branches of one great plan. It will go on gradually and spread steadily among the children of faith who are fitted to receive it. The Master has so willed it. His time is not yours, nor is our vision circumscribed as yours.
“In due time the knowledge which we come to spread will be known among men. Meantime, progressive souls are being educated; precious seed is being sown, and the reaping and garnering shall come in their course.” (9)
So frank was he about the need to reform religion and determined to do it that he even debunked in great detail many of the Biblical prophets’ accounts and altogether challenged his reader to wake up in spiritual matters.
To fully appreciate the irony of Imperator stripping the prophetic record of its dross, we need to know that it was he, Malachi or Imperator, who made the final choice of what would go into the Old Testament and what would not. Probably no one has spent more time studying the prophets than he. And his New Revelation can be looked upon as what he might say today if he were to make that selection again.
