In the experiment that life is, the more we understand the conditions of the creation, preservation and transformation of life, the more able we are to formulate our specific experiments.
Knowledge of the way in which the Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Ghost or Brahman, Atman and Shakti was created and operates is basic to life. (1)
Knowledge of how the Mother (the Holy Ghost, Shakti) (2) and the soul (the Son, the Atman) (3) were created and operate is perhaps the most important subject matter for us pilgrims in the journey of life.
Subsidiary to that is knowledge of how the body we’re currently in operates. Right now we’re in a physical body of carbon base (going, going, gone) and we’re moving to a body of crystalline base.
Our knowledge of how this physical body operates is probably miniscule. I’m not speaking about how it operates chemically, biologically or physically, but how it operates in the way the Growth Movement and the social sciences understand it: behavior, attitudes, internal states.
Our spiritual understanding, as vast as we may consider it to be, is also probably miniscule when compared with the understanding of those of higher dimensions. Our knowledge of the chakra system, aura, mind, various bodies, and kundalini is relatively undeveloped. One has only to look at what Linda Dillon’s channelings have added on such subjects as the chakras and universal laws to see that.
And much of our current knowledge will cease to be of interest to us when we leave the Third Dimension anyways. Karma will be more or less gone as a teaching mechanism. All conditions will change.
We face a process of continuous change from here on in and so, even while we learn the basics, the basics will change.
That’s why I say that to orient ourselves to life as if it’s an experiment is one way to welcome the many changes that are coming our way.
Let me give an example of an experiment. A favorite maxim at Cold Mountain Institute, which has served me all my life, was to “try it on and test it out.”
If someone told an uncomfortable truth about me and I became defensive, I’d be deprived of the benefit of that feedback. Rather than do that, I was encouraged to try it on and test it out. If it fit, it would resonate with me. If it didn’t fit, it wouldn’t resonate. If it fit, it might cause release from an unwanted condition. It surely would.
Here’s another example. I’ve found recently that listening to my favorite songs from all eras is a good way to discover where I’m incomplete with my past and have vasanas. (4) I range from the melancholy to the inspiring, from the sorrowful to the joyful and I get to experience the feelings associated with the music and bring one vasana after another to completion. Now that is a rewarding experiment.
OK, that feels like enough for today too. I don’t want to tire you out but I do want to introduce a way to see our lives of constant change that can help us navigate the new white waters of the river of life.
(Concluded tomorrow.)
