I was reflecting recently on how important it is to stay in a place of peace and calm … and love. Aside from simply feeling really good, when I’m in that place, I’m better able to connect to my intuition and guidance to help me make the best decisions for the highest good of all, and I go through my day carrying a higher vibrational energy.
This is so important and I sometimes forget to do it. If I have a bad attitude, if I’m engaged in conflict, drama, fear, doubt, etc, my energy frequency is low and I’m not as “plugged in.”
It’s as if I’m operating on limited cylinders. Things don’t flow and my experiences and worldview can feel much more challenging. It just doesn’t feel good.
Granted, we’re still human, and feelings and emotions can surface leaving us not feeling so great sometimes. I feel it’s really important to honor what comes up, feel the feelings, work with them, learn from them … but then release them so we can get back to our true selves, which is love.
We humans tend to carry way too much baggage and this can weigh us down and keep our vibrations low. You may be familiar with this story of two Buddhist monks:
Two traveling monks reached a river where they met a young woman. Wary of the current, she asked if they could carry her across. One of the monks hesitated, but the other quickly picked her up onto his shoulders, transported her across the water, and put her down on the other bank. She thanked him and departed.
As the monks continued on their way, one was brooding and preoccupied. Unable to hold his silence, he spoke out. “Brother, our spiritual training teaches us to avoid any contact with women, but you picked that one up on your shoulders and carried her!”
“Brother,” the second monk replied, “I set her down on the other side, while you are still carrying her?”
We’ve learned that we create our reality, and I’ve seen this in my own life. I can choose how I feel and I have the power to switch my mood in an instant. When I’m in a good mood, life flows much easier, miracles happen, my body feels much better and my experiences are much more pleasurable … and it magnifies!
Whatever we focus on builds, so I choose joy! I choose to live with an open heart and a five-mile smile. I choose love!
I have a little note that I see when I wake up in the morning to remind me to do something to help me stay in that high vibrational state. I may listen to fun music, read something inspirational, tickle my son, meditate, get out in nature, do something kind for someone or myself, dance, connect with a dear friend, or I may watch an uplifting video like the one below (this is a favorite of mine).
We’ve learned how powerful we are as individuals and how our energy spreads like a ripple across the planet. Think of the incredible impact that has.
What do we choose?
