Please see Ev’s comment, below, in which she says that indeed it was Marianne Williamson who authored this comment, and not Nelson Mandella. I stand corrected.
Steve has posted a comment which was a great reminder for me personally.
I think the actual quote is from Nelson Mandella, made famous by and sometimes attributed to Marianne Williamson.
So relevant to our work at this time, Steve. Thank you.
The following is a quote from the film, Coach Carter. I encourage all to read and think about its meaning. It is powerful. Thanks for all you do.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
Our playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us. It’s in everyone and, as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
