Archangel Michael
My mission as an awareness writer is to go up along with everyone else and write about it.
My faith in Archangel Michael, my co-creative partner, grows and grows. I remember, in a moment of financial doubt, I said to him that I just had to go on faith and he replied, “What else can you do?”
And, yah, what else can ya do? I don’t go out on the skinny branches as far as I have to abandon my faith, get back into line, and maintain the illusion.
When I finish squeezing all the juice out of following the precept, “Do unto others,” I’d like to make following the precept, “Have faith. Trust in the Lord,” my next experiment. (1)
That is really the crux of the matter. In the game of enlightenment that life is, we have a really limited number of rolls of the dice at the existential level.
I rolled the dice when:
- Leaving academia for an uncertain future;
- Taking the job with the Immigration and Refugee Board;
- Starting the blog.
- Meeting Michael and the Mother…..
There are others and some I don’t mention because they involve others whom I don’t want to hurt or offend. I was a troll so I need to tread lightly, humbly.
These are choicepoints and can send us off into radically-different directions. I can illustrate one.
I was a historian at the National Museum of Man. I remember delivering a lecture at the Popular Culture Association in around 1974. I was saying that the two prevailing theories of the nature of popular culture could not be correct. Culture must be transmissible to be “culture.”
The meaning and mode of operation have to be capable of being passed on from one generation to another. Otherwise a violin unearthed five hundred years from now might be thought of as … what? An elegant flower pot?
And neither prevailing model of “low art” nor “mass behavior” fit that requirement. Saying that alone should have gotten me thrown out of the meeting. (2)
I offered the model of rapidly-changing ideas (fads, fashions, trends, manias) as opposed to slowly-changing ideas (traditions, conventions, norms, etiquette, etc.).
Half the room was excited; half the room was aggravated. I was offered a job at SUNY University (I was happy at the National Museum). It was all great fun.
The PCA (Popular Culture Association) refused to publish my article in their journal, only in the conference proceedings. I received the comments back from the reviewers, which were a defense of their model. This was my first encounter with an entrenched academia. More were to follow.
I found myself in that situation repeatedly (3) until I resolved to earn my keep by writing to people who thought more like me. That’s you and you have lovingly supported this enterprise ever since. You’ve allowed me an outlet for the writing I’d be doing if I were in jail and had only a pen and scraps of paper to write on.
Here we are, some of us on the verge of new occupations as humanitarian philanthropists. I feel fully-self-expressed as a writer. I won’t stop writing but I’ll add the duties of a CEO of numerous companies to it. It’ll be a social atmosphere whereas my kind of writing requires silence and solitude.
I imagine the role I’ll end up playing as a writer will be awareness-related, not financial reporting of any kind. I won’t be the lone ranger any more. I’m not very good at small talk.
I’ll be head of a number of enterprises, whose needs can’t be ignored. I’m going to have to come out of my shell and the thought is daunting.
But the next phase, after that, is that I’ll be located to the United Nations in New York to serve as a liaison between our star family and the UN. I believe I served this function once in Atlantis, as well. (4)
So life will change for me, but I know I’ll retain the desire to write from awareness.
I hope to see awareness writing spread. It can be a way of settling society down, returning to the center, the balance point, the heart, if pursued with authenticity and without the profit motive.
Footnotes
(1) The Divine Mother is the Lord. The relationship between the Mother and Father can be illustrated by thinking of ducks on a pond. There are the two that we could study – the pond and the ducks. The pond is inanimate and still. As long as it remains clean and safe, we don’t give it much thought. But the ducks splash around, build a nest, and raise a family. They reward study in more depth.
The pond is what I mean when I use the word “Father.” The ducks are what I mean when I use the word “Mother.”
(2) I was young and not very diplomatic. I could have offered mine as a third, add-on category rather than as the “correct” version. I learned my lesson. I read the article now and wince.
(3) My look at late nineteenth-century theories of social behavior in the English-Canadian novel was turned down as not historical. After the vision of the purpose of life in 1987, I determined to write my sociology dissertation on enlightenment. I was again turned down. I left the university after that.
(4) Archangel Michael: You have been what at that time was known as a pilot and it was to act as the attaché, cultural and physical attaché, to the starships that were arriving, to welcome them, to work with them. It was far more personal than you can think of than the role of an attaché or ambassador in these days. So you have communicated for the people and the wellbeing of the Atlantean population. …
You were also an accolade and what you would think of as a priest in the Temple of Wisdom and that was where you committed and devoted your life to the integration of wisdom above and below, the holding of sacred truth deep within you.
We have always, always, worked together, my friend. But during that lifetime our bond was very close and you were very aware of how we worked together. (Archangel Michael in a personal reading with Steve Beckow through Linda Dillon, April 26, 2011.)
