Benevolence, n.
- An inclination to perform kind, charitable acts.
- A kindly act.
- A gift given out of generosity.
Benevolence = Loving plus sharing, giving, being kind, extending oneself.
Synonyms = Charitable, generous, kind, gracious, loving, compassionate.
“Benevolence” is an attitude. It’s stored in memory among all our other attitudes and influences how we respond to life.
In the case of benevolence, our response is compassionate, kind, and helpful. We usually gift money, objects, or a service to another in need. This is not limited to a gift to a relative or friend. If it’s benevolence as an attitude, then it includes gifts to strangers. And not loans. Not for any profit. The benevolent person gives freely and without condition.
Our reward is instantaneous because the act of giving and the act of sending love from the heart occur simultaneously. I get to experience love flowing through me and out to the other person. Michael described this movement:
Archangel Michael: Love is the energy of the universe. It is the energy of the Mother. And it moves constantly, continually, eternally, infinitely. So, to have an experience of love, it [must move] through you. (1)
Benevolence is one of the divine qualities. My limited experience of them is that every one of them is a reward unto itself and can be experienced by being drawn up from the heart with the breath.
