I think almost everybody has completely misunderstood Disclosure Day. Not because they misunderstood the film… but because they misunderstood why the film exists at all. Looking back at Close Encounters of the Third Kind in 1977, and comparing it with Disclosure Day in 2026, a fascinating pattern begins to emerge. The extraterrestrial question hasn’t really changed.
