I’ve just connected with something that I’ve long searched for, inwardly, without knowing it, and never found. The most apt words for it are my “ground of being.”
Baseline Resonance
It’s my baseline resonance. Someone some time ago said that we never lose our evolutionary level, unless we foresake it out of duty (as all of us are doing right now). But it is there no matter what the outside circumstances are.
That “evolutionary level” is a functional description of what I mean when I use the term “ground of being.”
At the end of the day, we return to it. For some it’s activity. For others it’s a cessation of activity. For some it’s isolation. For others it’s interaction. We all have a different baseline resonance.
It’s also the place we come from, out into the world. It’s the place we immediately come in touch with when we shed the image we’re presenting or projecting to others. It’s underneath the one we’d like others to believe we are. It’s seen as “more sincere.”
Not the One
I’m not pointing at the One, which is the Ground of all being. I’m pointing at a stairstep, much further down the line. The sum of all our development to date, our default beingness on this journey to the One. Who we are underneath the issue of the moment. And who we return to.
It shows up as something I experience and being aware of experiencing it (when I am) is what is meant by being at the experiential level of consciousness (there are three knowledge levels: intellectual, experiential, and realizational).
How do I experience my ground of being?
