I received this email today:
Steve Beckow is OBSSESED with Iran & has been for quite a while. I am surprised he doesn’t have an Iranian flag posted. In the “Darkness Unto Light,” he has 15 to 20 Iranian articles & maybe 2 or 3 US articles. [This is untrue.]
Today “From Darkness Unto Light, 14 April 2026 Update” 4 are in Arabic, are we supposed to be able to read that or is he just catering to the Iranians in the US. I am tired of seeing so much Iranian stuff in GAoG to the point I don’t read anything he posts anymore.
The articles with Arabic have English below or I wouldn’t be posting them.
I’d be ashamed to write such an email to someone. The responsible thing is just to go elsewhere. I hope I never hear from that person again until their heart opens and they apologize.
With an open heart, this person would never be saying what she said.
I need to say this plainly:
The Iranian people are constantly saying to us: “Do not forget about us.”
Their travail doesn’t fit into one or more news cycles; it goes on.
I don’t intend to abandon them. I’m not here to entertain anyone. I’m here to support the cause of freedom in the world wherever it is threatened.
I suppose I connected with “the Iranian people” as a result of sitting on numerous Iranian refugee claims on the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. I found them naturally polite and welcoming. I respect their culture.
The fate of Iranian people who get arrested is grim. Maybe you’d like to read about it in the State Department bulletins.
Rape, torture, everything we never want to happen to us happens to them in a place like Evin Prison. And then they are killed. Just shot. Bang. Gone.
With all my heart, I want to see the Islamic regime go.
I repeat: I do not intend to abandon the people of Iran, no matter how long it takes to win their freedom.
I will not stop shedding light on their predicament until the Iranian people are free.
And, with the Wave of Love coming, that may not be far off.
The answer to this person’s dilemma is simple: Stop reading “From Darkness Unto Light.” But don’t tell me to abandon a suffering people because you want more variation in your news diet.
