The government funded Pathways game came out in 2023, featuring the Amelia scenario (often referred to as her recruitment “campaign”). They considered it to be educational for 11 to 18-year-olds. Think Ministry of Propaganda. The full title is Pathways: Navigating Gaming, the Internet and Extremism, and they said it was about spotting and avoiding what they brand as extremism, particularly if it’s a far-right ideology.
In the game’s second scenario, Amelia ~ a purple-haired goth girl antagonist ~ attempts to radicalize the protagonist (Charlie) by inviting him to an anti-immigration protest or political rally, portrayed as a pathway to extremism that could lead to a Prevent referral (formal snitch network). Amelia was created to represent something undesirable, and she ended up being the gateway drug to radical patriotism.
There are a multitude of inspiring (and spicy) Amelia shorts on the X account @Huff4Congress.
