It is the little things which truly matter…
I am reminded of something I read years ago, and in one of those Tao wisdom books.
A man living in a village, wanted to see a Sage living on the mountain top. After an arduous journey he eventually found the sage. When the sage saw him, he asked him how he could assist him.
“When I move to another village or town, will I be happy?” the Man asked.
“Well, tell me more about your life now,” said the Master. “How are the people? How is life there?”
The man now elaborated in how miserable everyone was, and how he had fights with his neighbor and how miserable life was.
Said the Sage: “Well, then, that is what you will find there too: – for you take yourself with you, wherever you go!”
The truth is quite simple. Real happiness, inner love, and joy, all are truly found WITHIN you, and not outside.
Happiness has a way of eluding us when we seek it outside, and we may find it for fleeting moments only. Yet, when we start to truly seek magic in every single breathing moment, then we will find it reveals its beautiful happy face everywhere.
It can be in the smile of stranger passing by, the laughter of children, the antics of a beloved pet, the exquisite songs of birds, the beauty of nature, the way the wind plays with your hair, and smell of rain, on an extremely hot dry summers day!
It can be in those moments of utter Oneness WITH ALL THAT IS.
In truth, it is there all around us, and within us, if we just have the heart-soul eyes to truly see.
It is found in inner most sanctuary of your own heart and soul, just like love and joy.
And it tends to lightly alight on your shoulders, when you least expect it, in precious, minute moments which love to linger.….
