I had a huge disaster this morning. I spilled coffee on my laptop. I did a massive cleanup but the laptop does seem to have been critically affected.
The error message at the top shows an essential function I’ve lost. I interpret the “problem,” to be coffee damage.
The disk is locked, which means it cannot be backed up. That means that I have no record of my laptop’s contents past this date. That’s a game-changer.
Given that we can’t be sure of our Internet files always being there (witness Mike Quinsey’s site), my back-ups, which go back to 2009, assume a new importance.
Forgive me folks, but I’m going to leave the appeal up an extra two days because I have no money to replace my computer.
Your kind assistance would be greatly appreciated.
