The last thing I really remember was contemplating how matter came into being.
Then gravity grabbed a hold of me and body slammed me back onto the planet.
Terra Gaia. Solid and seemingly where all things matter come together. Perhaps the past few weeks have been a micro sample of what Sophia experienced when she shifted from cosmic light into material density. Although the first incarnation of 3D must have rocked the cosmic realm, the collision into solid objects is very familiar to us humans. It would seem that our task is to realize the reversal Sophia’s event described as the Big Bang.
Yes, I was contemplated all this when my truck broke down.
My business work truck mind you.
The backbone of my earthly existence, my day job. All of it came to a screeching halt on a very hot afternoon.
I mean, in a past life it would have been a screeching halt.
But this time I took the news gracefully and responded quickly with a ‘let’s change this course right now’ determination.
Well, I thought I would be handling it gracefully. And I thought it was going to change the course of action.
It would appear however, that when some things are set in motion if you counter move there will be another cosmic counter move.
I had the truck towed to the only place I could find with room enough to store it before repairs.
Apparently there is a backlog of trucks to be repaired. Nobody could even look at it for two weeks.
I have hauling jobs now. I could not wait two weeks.
I set about to buy a new truck.
My worker said he knew of a good truck that his buddy had told him that very morning he wanted to sell it.
Timing right?
I had the truck purchased and insured by the very next morning. We were back in business without ever stopping work.
All went well until the next hauling job a few days later.
As soon as a heavy load traveled across town this truck started smoking. Apparently the brakes locked up.
Somehow arriving at the job site, the truck finally refused to move forward or backward.
We managed to unload the rock and finish that job but the truck got left on the street overnight.
The next morning it was cooled enough to drive to the brake shop. They fixed it that day. Back in business.
We moved on to another job and filled the new truck to the top and off it went to the dump.
The temperatures were climbing into the century mark that day so it was nice to get that job done early.
My next phone call came in from that worker 20 miles out of town at the landfill. Truck was locked up.
A return of a never ending issue.
We slowly got the truck back to the brake shop after hours of hot sunny stops.
And the issue has finally been found and resolved. Brake line.
This has now been 3 weeks of chaos, getting jobs down, creative planning and absolute determination trying not to be plussed by relentless issues.
This is the spin cycle of life.
Around and around we go falling down and getting back up in a tumbler of cyclical motion.
If I were to be grateful for this process I would say that at least I have been through the wash cycle.
The tumbler typically is a sign that the laundry is almost done.
Only thing left is to hang out to dry. Or if you really want to climb back into a tumbler, find the dryer.
I personally am welcoming a slow air drying method.
I envy the clothes hanging on a drying rack or a backyard clothesline.
There is a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when you see clothes hanging on the clothesline.
Sunny days and gentle breezes completing a process organically, naturally, and with refreshing results.
While here on the planet and dealing with salt of the earth situations, I wonder how our everyday activities play such an important part of the whole.
Sure, there are many personal lessons involved with all that we experience.
And there is no doubt in my mind the people we interact with are all getting some of what they need from what we are doing.
I cannot follow it all.
Keeping up with everyone’s issues is like trying to track a single sock in the window of the washing machine.
It will eventually get lost in the murky water.
We can take comfort in knowing we are in the tumbler together.
And soon…no I won’t use that word… In time, we will get through this process to a point that we can finally sit with refreshing results.
Having found a solution to my truck issues I can say I handled that spin better than I would have in the past.
I am taking some time to reflect on what just happened and draw out any personal messages.
Connecting it back to creation and how we ended up where we are now, I have to say there are alot of things that we give way too much weight too.
For me, part of this process has been to find the value in our interactions with each other.
It’s not what life throws at you but in how you handle it.
It is about how we treat each other during stressful times.
Yup, it all comes back to love.
As I write these words, I am comfortably tucked into a chair drinking coffee at my friend Sitara’s.
She smelled the morning coffee brewing and got up to start her day.
Slowly lumbering into the room she groaned audibly and said to me, “Did anybody get the number of that truck?”.
I laughed in comprehension.
‘Yup ‘, I said it’s called EARTH.
