Do emotions weigh you down?
We often refer to them as a heavy weight. And when they clear, we say a weight has been lifted.
Maybe it’s not the emotions themselves that weigh us down, but the burden that we carry around and attach our emotions to.
What is it then that we identify as heavy burdens?
Is a burden an object. Yes it can be
Is a burden a task? Yes Is a burden a feeling? Yes
A burden can be any situation that has occurred and that experience is absorbed into our beings as a fixture.
We can connect emotions to all of these things.
The more emotions we attach to our burdens the heavier they become.
Emotional baggage is heavy.
Emotions are like sponges that absorb more and more as we feed them.
Like the ebb and flow of ocean tides, sponges are designed to absorb and release.
But if one never squeezes out the sponge, it gets heavier and heavier until it just can’t absorb anymore.
We are at a saturation point.
Depending on how we feel about something determines the weight we carry around.
How many sponges have we attached to our experiences?
When we decide to release we must first find and identify what it is we are carrying around with us.
I do not know about everyone else, but I feel like we are doing some very heavy lifting right now.
This is the deep cleaning.
This is the heavy lifting.
This is pulling free all of the hidden, forgotten, misplaced, unresolved and unwanted items from the deep corners and pulling them out in the open.
This is the time to be done with those items that are no longer needed and remove them from the closets and crevices of our being.
Up until now this chapter of my life has been written and I have been of service.
That story is the past and no longer defines me.
It is now the era of creating new stories and having new adventures.
One way to move into a new chapter is by lightening the load one carries.
This does not mean you need to turn your back on friends and family. But by turning your face toward the new and unknown.
Staying connected to the past by being that person in ‘that story’ is the burden that can be released.
Free yourself from having to be ‘as you have always been’ and be who you are now. Be who you want to be, allowing yourself to explore new possibilities.
You can make big sweeping changes if that is how you want to do it.
We are explorers in a whole new reality and the old rules do not apply.
I don’t even know what the new rules are or if there are rules.
I am aware of the Universal Laws. If there were to be any new rules let these be them.
And they are not rules but basic principles about how things work. (1)
Part of my personal burden was from isolation.
I was not able to speak my truth.
I could not be open about my pain.
Every time I tried I got shut down and lost more than I would gain.
It became a punishment to speak up.
This is one of my sponges I need to release.
I found this one in a closet on the back shelf in the basement of my mind.
Wow. I did not know it even existed. And now here it is surfacing after all these years of dragging it around.
Who knew my own body was absorbing and hiding my pain ?
Working it loose and freeing myself from its soggy fermenting existence has been a process.
After the realization that it needed to be handled, I grabbed a corner and intentionally worked it out and freed myself from that unnecessary burden and attached harmful emotions.
Good riddance. Good bye.
My weight has been lifted.
My aura feels brighter
This is the housecleaning of a lifetime.
