This is a phantom quote. But It must be the prevailing program somewhere.
The level of absurdity in our world condition continues to peak at all time highs.
My level of local awareness is not even a fraction of how bad it is out there. But it’s benign enough to use as fodder.
One could just throw a dart and have plenty of material from which to digress.
Maybe this is a writer’s dream. Not exactly a dream one would want but surely just as crazy.
I am going to start with inflation
Inflation is at an all time high. They say, gas is at 6 %. Food is at 8%.
A quick google search says the annual rate is 6.5% with a new report due on Feb 14th.
I am on the edge of my seat for that report.
Let’s see if they get it right.
Simple math proves them all wrong.
Organic grass fed beef jumped from 6.99 pound to 15.99 in the past 18 months.
Again a quick google search shows that the current price is $7.83 a pound.
Go to the meat department in any store and it costs 15.99 for a 12 oz package.
Now, this may vary store to store so my numbers might be a wee bit off.
But who’s going to notice?
Apparently we are not supposed to be able to do math anyway.
But for those that are capable of calculating, we are clearly at a 50% inflation rate.
Now here is my real beef.
We pay taxes by a percentage rate.
So if the cost of things have gone up so has the amount of taxes we are paying.
The tax rate stays the same but the tax man is collecting more.
However, I have noticed that tax rates are going up.
Like hotel rooms, business rentals, real estate and private property.
Let’s focus a second on hotel rooms.
During a recent trip I made reservations for a room I thought was extremely reasonable.
$67 US for one night. When the final figure came in it was $117 per night.
How, why the massive jump?
I asked and was told it was because the tax rates went up.
I googled the tax rate.
It went up 2% this year, 2023. Hotel owners are given permission to charge 2% more over that.
So 4% more increase to the consumer.
Funny how my math rings in closer to 80% increase. $67 for the room, $50 for taxes.
hmmm Another opportunity to bilk hard working people.
okay We are used to it. We pay so we can stay.
Now let’s look at our infrastructure and how our collected funds are spent.
I know, I know… I ask the questions that are taboo. But I actually am interested in the answers.
We pay for products and percentages are collected.
Those collections are for the specific allocated funds whose taxes are earmarked to support it.
When a legislature votes for these allocations it’s supposed to go through due process so that the people have a voice on how we spend our money.
Sorry… Did you laugh out loud?
Thought so..
So my question is..
If costs are going up and more taxes are being collected, isn’t more money being sent towards our infrastructure?
Are we seeing an increase in road improvement?
Are we seeing betterment of anything?
I see new things happening.
Do you know you have to pay for parking when you stay at a hotel ?
Did you know they are starting a proposal to toll for every road you drive on?
Do you see that the prevailing program is getting more and more absurd?
Now that I have pointed out the obvious and the absurdity of it all.
I want to ask another question. I will keep it simple. I only want to ask Why?
Why _____?
You can fill in the blank.
Why do we allow this?
Why do they get away with this?
Why aren’t we speaking out? Speaking up!
This is part of our spiritual path.
I am not asking for people to get in the face of other people.
I am simply pointing out that if we allow this we have lost our ability to have our voices heard.
If you laughed at the comment earlier, you may have already given up.
It’s okay to laugh but I don’t believe apathy is an appropriate response.
Let’s find a way to take back our power.
It doesn’t matter which foot you want to start with as long as you are standing up.
Remember we are the backbone of all structure. It’s our money.
Know what you want to do with it.
Where do you want to spend it?
Whom do you want to give it to?
What would you like to have the energy of your money manifest?
Some would say do not give your attention to this level of unfoldment.
By paying attention to it you will be giving it power.
I do not believe having an awareness of something is going to help it manifest.
I do think that ignoring it will give it permission to manifest without you.
Making no decision is a decision.
On the contrary, by being aware you are empowering yourself.
It is the first step in transforming it and redirecting the energy.
Saying No is a start.
No, I will not pay for parking in addition to paying regular fees.
I did say that and the front desk gave me a parking slip anyway.
They didn’t know what to do if someone refused.
I thanked them. Actually I said, I love you.
Let’s give energy into informing the people so we can all make good choices.
No more being tricked or blindsided by bilkers.
In this way we guide the thought and energy in the correct direction.
Let’s focus our energy on what you do want to support.
The solution will then be more divinely guided.
I agree that simply complaining without taking action is negative attention.
So let’s take action.
Let’s empower ourselves by paying attention to how our world is operating and making changes towards better solutions.
