More about this Action
Everyone deserves access to safe, nutritious and sufficient food but around the world, millions of people are uncertain of where their next meal will come from.
World hunger has been on the rise for years.
Conflict, climate change, economic shocks and a global pandemic have exacerbated food insecurity and plunged families into poverty.
It is now estimated that 41 million people are on the brink of starvation this year and urgent funding is needed to reach those at risk.
The World Food Programme and other humanitarian organisations estimate that $6 billion is needed to scale up life-saving food and emergency programs to help the most vulnerable populations including young children and pregnant women but they face enormous funding gaps.
But there is a solution.
David Beasly, Head of the World Food Programme, Global Citizen and others are encouraging billionaires to go further faster and step up in helping to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems now.
