Paul: Good evening, Raj.
Raj: Good evening, Paul.
Paul: Is there impact going on? Is that what I’m experiencing?
Raj: Yes, it is.
Paul: What is the source?
Raj: Great fear which is sweeping your globe.
Paul: Why am I being affected by it?
Raj: Because the fear is so great, and growing. It is not something everyone has experience with, and the “unknown” factor, together with the increased presence of global communication, is promoting unbridled imagination instead of the measured, careful (meaning “full of care,” not “cautious” or ”apprehensive”) choice for peace and the influx of clarity which accompanies it.
Those who find themselves overwhelmed with fear of a radically unknown phenomenon do not need any of us to join them in reaction. And this means that each of us must decline the invitation which the media inadvertently and sometimes carelessly tempts everyone with, to magnify the sense of threat when it is sober, grounded, consciously-chosen intelligence which needs to be promoted.
The threat of widespread, undetectable mortality headed in “this” direction is not a common experience, but fear is the “real” enemy, overriding the state of mind necessary for effectively dealing with a threat of any kind. And peace is the antidote for fear.
It has been said that, “The only thing to fear, is fear itself!” Fear is a temptation, while peace is a choice. And when the choice for peace is made, temptation recedes. Need remains, however. The call for Love remains. Brotherhood remains the necessity to be carried out in actions and involvement. The worth of every individual remains the essential fact to be conveyed by actions taken! And reluctance to embody Brotherhood becomes absolutely unacceptable!
This is Love, because one Knows that such a threat is unasked for, undeserved, illegitimate, and because it cannot be justified, one recognizes the need to pull down walls and judgments, withdraw all sense of difference which would distance or separate one from a Brother, and walk into the arena where threat would tend to isolate!
What would one withhold from another whom “circumstance” has illegitimately separated from his fearlessness and threatened with the spectre of death? Those who have been so immobilized may not be able to move freely, but “armies” of Brothers, whose peace and Love and skill and kindness are still intact can move into those areas quarantined by law or simply isolated by fear and be the “first responders” with the antidote to fear —fearlessness— and be the presence of the Love that heals!
There is no time to “adjust to the situation.” No one had the luxury of “getting used to” the inconvenience of being the presence of Love “during air raids,” or while “being gathered onto trains to be taken to concentration camps.” And the present situation is no different.
Is this meant to imply that something real can be threatened and something unreal does exist, and that fear is justified? No. It simply means that everyone has “gotten soft” in the absence of ongoing threat, and is “enjoying” the luxury of privacy from one another, the audacity of making each other ”self-responsible,” and segregating each other on the basis of not being free of need, or not having the right political, religious, or national credentials!
I have spoken before about need! I have spoken about need being that which invites its fulfillment, and that need and fulfillment are inseparable and ever present partners. I have illuminated the fact that one who is in touch with his needs without attempting to be free of them is the embodiment of humility, the absence of arrogance, the presence of Brotherhood and the absence of all that denies It.
Understanding “need” not only qualifies one for Brotherhood, it promotes the acts of Brotherhood which come from recognizing one’s Brother as just like himself and treating him that way . . . treating him with the respect which speaks volumes because in the absence of the artificial arrogance of independence, genuine humility is a profound connection.
Fear is actually being felt globally today, and local safety is no longer seen as separate and apart from any place a plane can get to or has gotten to. No. But more importantly, it is fear of simple things “here at home” — a call to wear rubber gloves or masks and avoid people. If one is not alert, it can creep into everything and cause one to lose balance, imagining it is not even safe to be alive.
Be careful how you think, and be careful how you talk to each other — care-full, not care-less. Do not gossip about each other’s fears or unique defenses. Limit your discussions about what is going on in your communities to those things which confirm the practice of intelligence or the expression of Brotherhood, which note the holiness or essential Worth of every member of the community.
I am not talking about practicing the power of positive thinking here. I am talking about giving voice to the Voice for Truth. While positive thinking overcomes negative thinking, it remains in the realm of thinking, and it’s not Love or Brotherhood.
Speak to each other about the things I have shared here. Speak to strangers about them. The very circumstances are starting more conversations between people who never talked before. Motivate intelligence and the practical aspects of practiced Brotherhood. Not because the threat is real, but because these are the antidote to fear! And peace, realized, is the ultimate absence of anything needing to be healed!
Everyone has watched fear being promoted over the past three years. Everyone has seen the process whereby fear and reaction have become normalized and justified. And everyone has observed selfishness gain national and international acceptability. Now, everyone is having the opportunity to discover that untempered imagination and justifiable angry dissent, as an acceptable force for accomplishing things in the world is not acceptable!
There is a lesson to be learned here in the present circumstance sweeping the globe and the seemingly unrelated political, national and international dynamics of the past few years. And it is a lesson to be learned quickly! It is this: Fear is temptation and peace is a choice. Fear is the absence of reason and intelligence — the absence of mental sobriety. It has no anchor. Stability is unknown to it. And although it can be magnified and apparently held together by the focus of strong personas, it is no different from the unpredictable and undetectable threat of attack in war, or the any other form of personal violation.
There is a point at which it will become clear that fear was never under the control of strong personas. There is a point where it will violate the appearance of being controlled, and its insanity will require — as the current outbreak of fear does — the absolute grounding practice of the two-step, the holy instant, the abandonment of independence from each other, and the joining together consciously and willingly in selfless Love.
When things get out of hand, blame, judgment and guilt are never the answer. Love, embrace, and honor are, and they must come into play immediately, practiced by you on your behalf . . . as well as by you on behalf of your Brother. It doesn’t matter if it’s messy or inconvenient. And the sooner it’s begun, the sooner correction will be done and Brotherhood will prevail.
This has been my message for quite awhile, because its recognition has become increasingly imperative. “There is no order of difficulty in miracles.” And what is occurring right now has the same simple answer as the circumstances of the past three years have had. The only difference now is that it isn’t just those at the borders who need to be embraced and let in.
Now, the borders have disappeared and no one is safely inside anywhere. Everyone may or may not be a refugee from that which is illegitimate, and everyone may need and deserve a Brother who is willing to be the Love which takes in, honors and Loves . . . and by Loving heals.
One thing is for sure: There is no longer any confusion about someone being better off, someone being more respectable, someone being unhumiliated. Everyone is humiliated right now. We are all in the same boat. And we need each other. And we need each other to fulfill our Function, which is to love each other in the absence of any artificial importance. This means becoming Real with each other. It means enduring the insult of having to say to the Father, “Thy will, not mine be done,” and then loving each other with His will.
I wish for everyone to see the position you are in right now — the helpless position in which you have lost the artificial capacity to feel egotistically competent on your own, wherein it is clear to you that you will only make it by means of sheer chance or because you truly are the Sons and Daughters of God.
Such awareness of helplessness is the beginning of Wisdom and the beginning of Atonement, because you are the Sons and Daughters of God, all of You, on a globe that you can never again imagine with borders that give anyone a real advantage — a globe that now proves how wonderfully equal you all are — providing the basis and the motivation for concerted effort to reestablish Brotherhood
