May I be permitted a comment on the subject of emails please?
I wrote back to a gentleman, who wrote in and wanted to have a conversation, that I can’t do conversations. I just don’t have the time for it anymore.
The situation with email has changed over the years as the volume of email steadily increases.
He wrote me back and suggested that I drop the phrase “and listen to yours” from my notice on the front page:
“I’m a researcher and writer, here simply to share my views and listen to yours as spiritual adults and equals.”
I get that I sound like a hypocrite but, folks, there really is only one of me and I have to draw the line on email somewhere … or go under from the volume.
Most of you who write in know that I answer email promptly. But it’s becoming a challenge to keep up.
My job is to research and write articles. I answer as many emails as I can without cutting so deeply into the time and energy I have as to not be available to do that which I’m here to do.
So, yes, I am here to listen (and anyone who knows me knows I listen) but I cannot listen forever and to every type of communication.
I hope you understand.
