A shift is happening. Humanity is at a tipping point. Within the ensuing chaos – beyond the drama of the media – a rapidly growing movement of Love is being born. People in every corner of the earth are feeling it and reaching out to one another in love and compassion, in understanding and forgiveness. Although it may seem subtle, this wave of Awakening Consciousness is encircling the globe.
Our Awakening Spirit is exploring this global phenomena. We want to understand this awakening of humanity that is taking us beyond the status quo to a new and higher level of thinking and behaving.
We are exploring it via many avenues: our own Awakening experiences, the teachings of the great mystics, the profound insights of those who have had Near Death Experiences, and the miraculous visions shared by those who are completing this life as the Light opens their awareness. All report the same message… “We are so much more than we knew!”
Awakenings come in all shapes and sizes and durations. For many, the Awakening is a gradual process. For others, it is a spontaneous shift in consciousness that instantly changes their entire world view. They may last just moments while we are still, or remain an open door with an influx of Cosmic Consciousness such as has been experienced by some of the great mystics and teachers.
Our shift in consciousness may come when we are quiet and our world becomes still. It may shift as we gaze at a glorious sunset or the breathtaking beauty of nature. It may come while in deep meditation as a brilliant Light that emanates love such as we have never known, a love that stays with us even after the Light dissipates.
For some of us, it may come as an influx of unfathomable love as we sit with another at the doorways of life – at the birth of an infant who is coming into this life or as we commune with a loved one as they are completing this life.
It comes when we let go of mental chatter and, in stillness, have opened to the wonder of the moment.
Regardless of how our Spirit awakens us, our concept of who we are in our human experience changes profoundly. We see others from a greater perspective and tend to love with a compassion and forgiveness beyond that of ordinary human consciousness. In other words, our vision of life and our capacity to love expands to include ALL.
We see all others as part of our universal family. We see animals as fellow beings with a capacity for love and loyalty often beyond that of humans. We see the Earth as a living, pulsing Being that is the home of great beauty and abundant sustenance for all of her inhabitants, the parent who nurtures and sustains us on our journey in human form.
Awakening brings an inflowing awareness of a reality far beyond our own limited thinking and a knowing that resonates deep within that what we are experiencing is far more real than the life we have been living. Within this expansive knowing, we realize that we are not learning something new, but rather are remembering something so vast and wondrous that we wonder how we could have ever forgotten. We cannot deny its reality. We cannot deny humanity’s evolving shift.
The visions of the mystics and the dying share the same wondrous story. What they see in that transforming vision is the greater reality of our human story. By sharing their stories, they become our teachers, our wayshowers as we reach beyond the ordinary. Theirs is the Light and Love that transforms anguish into joyous ecstasy.
As we all listen and share our stories, our perception of who we are changes. We begin to understand our own human experience and see the greater picture of who we truly are, why we are here, and the purpose of the vast and interchanging experiences we all have – not only in this life, but all others as well. We begin to understand why we came to experience what we experience. These life-changing stories uplift and transform us.
With this shift in consciousness, we see the path humanity has taken and, to our great wonder, we joyfully see the path open to us now if we choose it. We know, without doubt, that we are all eternally connected and see our human experience as a grand, creative adventure we all share. We know that each of us is an integral part of humanity’s evolution as we move from chaos into a heretofore unknown capacity for love and compassion for one another and for this beautiful home we call Earth.
We now understand with clarity what the French mystic Teilhard de Chardin meant when he said, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
We are cosmic adventurers – creators on a grand galactic mission. And we are now on the home stretch of bringing this beloved planet into her fullest glory!
