Join with us, 8 minutes at 8PM, in unity with our Somalian sisters and brothers as they wear red bandanas in protest against the terror group al-Shabab.
There was another bomb attack yesterday.
As a young girl in the video below says, “The bandana represents the blood of my people who have been killed in the blast.”
There were small protests in the past, but most people were afraid. Now thousands unite.
Alastair Leithead, a BBC Africa Correspondent says, “This really is remarkable! It’s never happened before. Thousands of people gathering at the National Stadium, all demonstrating against al-Shabab and what they’re asking for is unity. It’s what Somalia has always needed and it’s certainly what is needed.”
