A little creative searching brought me to discover The Mankind Project. They call themselves a men’s community for the 21st Century, “…a nonprofit training and education organization with three decades of proven success hosting life-changing experiential personal development programs for men.
MKP supports a global network of free peer-facilitated men’s groups and supports men in leading lives of integrity, authenticity, and service.

The ManKind Project has a presence in more than 21 nations. The ManKind Project (MKP) is a global brotherhood of nonprofit charitable organizations [501 (c)(3) in the USA] that conducts challenging and highly rewarding programs for men at every stage of life.
The ManKind Project currently has 11 regions: Australia, Belgium, Canada, French Speaking Europe, Germany, New Zealand, Nordic (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland), South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom & Ireland, and the United States. There are also a number of developing regions: Costa Rica, Mexico, Netherlands, China, India, and the Central Africa (DRC, Cameroon).
The ManKind Project supports a global network of over 1,000 peer-facilitated men’s groups serving close to 10,000 men each week. In an MKP men’s group, men mentor men through the passages of their lives.
The ManKind Project empowers men to missions of service, supporting men to make a difference in the lives of others – men, women, and children around the world. We help men through any transition, men at all levels of success, men facing almost any challenge.
Our flagship training, is described by many as the most powerful men’s training available: New Warrior Training Adventure. The ManKind Project (MKP) is not affiliated with any religious practice or political party. We strive to be increasingly inclusive and affirming of cultural differences, especially with respect to color, class, sexual orientation, faith, age, ability, ethnicity, and nationality.
The easiest way to find out more is to talk to men and women whose lives have been affected by MKP. If you would like to connect to people in your local area, please see our Communities Page
Connecting to Authentic Male Emotion
Many men have been taught to value thinking and to distrust feelings. They have been desensitized, taught to endure pain without complaint, and told that it is an honor to sacrifice our bodies for society.
As a result, many men suffer from isolation and are prone to addictions and to acting out their feelings in dysfunctional ways. Many are afraid of intimacy, both with men and with women. They hide behind masks that are brittle and in need of repair.
A lot of men are sad, lonely, frightened, angry, and ashamed, and don’t even know it.
And with the loss of their feelings, they also lose what is most precious to them: Their ability to value their world and to hold life dear.
Other men know their feelings perhaps too well.
They have learned to indulge in their feelings and use them to manipulate others, often the ones they love most. They lack the ability to stand in their own authenticity. Lost in their feelings, they too lose what is most precious to them: Their ability to be trusted and loved.
There is another way. On the New Warrior Training Adventure men re-discover their feelings with their feet on the ground. They begin to learn to clarify what they’re feeling and to express those feelings directly and authentically. They begin to learn to balance the depth of the heart with the wisdom of the mind. If this kind of authenticity sounds attractive to you, the NWTA may be for you.
“Closing down in the midst of pain is a denial of a man’s true nature. A superior man is free in feeling and action, even amidst great pain and hurt. If necessary, a man should live with a hurting heart rather than a closed one.” author David Deida
