An out-of-body experience (OBE) is an interesting phenomenon where a person seems to leave their body, and many report experiencing a different state of consciousness wherein they have abilities that are impossible in the physical realm.
You can find all kinds of OBE experiences on the internet, and they’re all centered on the theme of leaving the body and witnessing things that are out of this world.
Another interesting but much more unsettling phenomenon is sleep paralysis; it’s only unsettling because of the experiences some people have had while the body was paralyzed at night. We’ll learn more about that soon, and it too could be the key to discovering states of being currently beyond our perception.
I like to think there are ‘lower’ and ‘higher’ states we can connect with through meditation and interact with through lucid dreaming. OBEs, as well as the sleep paralysis experiences many have reported, could point to the existence of these realms and the fact that we can naturally access them.
The Light and the Dark
I’d like to share five supposedly true stories from people who have had OBEs or experienced sleep paralysis. One or two slightly unrelated stories may be thrown in here simply because they’re fascinating, but our main focus is OBEs and the experiences one can have during sleep paralysis.
I should warn that some of the stories I’ll share here are pretty dark.
If they’re true, they make it clear that just like love, light and bliss exist in higher states of being, darkness exists in ‘lower’ states and it occasionally rears its ugly head. We can either experience or avoid it based on our choices here and now, and no matter how far down we fall down into it, we can always return to the light.
We can’t deny that a malevolent, controlling intelligence has infiltrated the collective consciousness, and this may be what some people have experienced during dreams, OBEs and NDEs (near-death experiences).
As much as I’d love only to share the positive stories, there seem to be just as many negative ones and I’d be remiss not to give you the full picture.
The fact that there are so many negative stories either tells us that the accounts are fake and written only for entertainment value, or the ‘dark side’ can negatively influence the earth and one’s individual consciousness as much as the light can heal it.
My opinion is that we can avoid the darkness by living in the light, being a good person and letting love drive our thoughts, words and actions instead of selfishness or hate.
I don’t know anything about the backgrounds of the people who wrote the stories I’ll share, and I’m willing to acknowledge that they could’ve been good people who had a negative spiritual experience for an unknown reason.
The very idea is a little scary, but it also deepens the mystery. In my eyes, this makes it exciting.
Story #1: Two Moons
Our first story begins with the writer, Ron S., falling asleep fairly early and dreaming he awoke in a parked vehicle. The vehicle wasn’t his, and for some reason he was naked.
This could have something to do with dream psychology; it’s believed that we dream certain things for a reason and paying attention to our dreams will help us decode signs and messages relating to our personal life.
I can remember having quite a few dreams where I lost a tooth or ran from an enemy, for example.
This and other similar phenomena are more than likely forms of dreamtime symbolism meant to communicate messages about one’s personal life. I don’t know the symbolism behind waking up unclothed in someone else’s car, but the message is probably deeply personal to the writer and can’t be decoded by anyone other than him.
He didn’t feel like he was dreaming at all, and even though he remembered going to sleep in his apartment, he had no memory of leaving the house.
He felt wide awake, and he couldn’t help but wonder how he had gotten there. He saw that nobody was around when he peeked out the car windows, so he decided to jump out and look up at the sky to see what time it was. He determined that it was early in the morning because the sun hadn’t yet risen.
Still feeling as awake and alert as he would during waking life, Ron walked into the back of a random house to find his mother and old roommate who were worried and irritated with him.
His wife was playing the role of the old roommate in this dream world, which speaks to the bizarre nature of many dreams and the fact that complex messages are usually being communicated.
He realized by the fact that his mother was sewing with an old foot petal machine and there were no TVs or radios around that he was in an older time period.
He also realized that the version of himself he was portraying in this world was mentally disturbed, and he recalls having similar dreams before. He tried to explain to his mother and old roommate wife that he was dreaming all of this and he would try his best not to be this disturbed man in future dreamtime encounters.
Then, something incredible happened.
He, his mother and wife went out to the balcony per his request to see the sunrise. He looked to the east to see the usual sunrise, but when he looked to the west, he saw too great big moons setting over the trees.
He instantly awoke in his bed, feeling as if he had just experienced another world in an intense, vivid, real way. He was invigorated after the experience, and he felt as if he gained some type of positive energy from it despite the inherent downsides.
