Memo: Service Outage

The Golden Age of Gaia experienced a service outage Wednesday. Most of our editors could not access the site.

Do we know what caused it? No, we don’t.

Tiara Kumara of Children of the Sun shared that her site was also down and stated her belief that it was malicious code coming in from the Middle East.

We apologize to our readers and are working to increase the level of the site’s protection.

Speaking in more general terms, if readers experience difficulty in reaching the site, we recommend you follow the following steps:

(1) Reboot your computer;

(2) Turn your modem off and leave it off for a few minutes before turning it back on again;

(3) Try accessing the site from free-proxyserver.com. If you can access the site from there, then the problem may reside with your Internet Service provider.

Most problems that arise with accessing the site do not reflect a problem with the site itself (today was an exception). For our part we are doing all we can to ensure interruption-free service.
