For the last week or so, I’ve been in a sort of weird and uncomfortable ‘void’ space. It’s taken me a while to notice this is what it was and to understand what about this has made me uncomfortable.
This space seems to be one of pure potential, vibrating with a potency that I’m unaccustomed to. Also this space hasn’t been very supportive of my regular push for productivity.
Here’s where I’ve felt the rub. I’m accustomed to equating productivity with activity and this void hasn’t been the space for activity so much as an invitation for me to dream.
The dreaming I’m talking about isn’t the chaotic kind that so often attends me in my sleeping space. It’s a very specific type of dreaming that asks me to use my desire to dream up the new stories I wish to create going forward.
The old stories have accompanied me for so long. I’m realizing my attachment to them in this voidiness. Yes, I made that word up. It’s pertinent to what I’m feeling in this passage.
This empty and potent space has somehow been emptied of the old stories. I find I agree with this entirely, and yet, there’s still some discomfort with having space with nothing yet to fill it. It’s like my bottom fell out somehow, and I don’t like the way it presents to me as having no ‘road signs’ or otherwise a clear ‘to-do’ list.
So I’ve been using this time to understand the sacred nature of this now. What does this now offer me?
With this question comes the review of old stories and how they functioned, or rather haven’t functioned, in terms of creating the world that works for everyone that I’m here to dream of and to work to co-create.
The old story-lines said that in order to survive we must either take or trick, corner or manipulate. Existing business and advertising models are excellent places to start with to look for evidence of this sort of mind-set.
My intuit on carrying this sort of old non-transparent business forward has been very strong for years now. The way this model no longer works is the bottom that’s falling out of the ‘matrix,’ even as I write this, and the evidences for this unworkability are everywhere now. It doesn’t take a whole lot of reading between the lines to see this unfold.
The new story-lines say that in order to succeed these old-paradigm beliefs need to be left at the side of the trail. My personal guidance was very specific here, with the words, “either leave the old stories and proceed or you will be too fat to fit through the passage.”
Wow! All I can say is I don’t want to be too fat to fit through the passage to the new! So, I allow for the discomfort I’m feeling with this space of void.
I see the old stories are no longer viable, and in fact never were truly viable to begin with. They haven’t produced the world we long for, and they haven’t nourished us as a global community either.
What does dreaming the new stories look like? The new stories are about a world that works for everyone. I think we may agree that this is the high bar we set on how we go forward together.
OK. How do we go forward together? The old stories drove us with fear and with all sorts of mayhem. They drove us to stampede in order to avoid the worst case scenario.
In my dreaming of the new stories, I see the way forward as being inviting, inspiring, and alluring others to participate. Our combined desire to create is voluntarily given or not at all.
We all play a crucial part in this new paradigm. How we may move together in this has yet to be seen, but what I’m looking at is a whole different process than has been the mode of operation I’ve been living in my whole life.
We all get to choose. Those who wish to help coordinate team efforts going forward are going to need to be able to inspire others to join in team or group activities. Global solutions are going to come from the efforts of the many and not from the efforts of a few.
I don’t buy into the thoughts that these problems we’ve created in unconsciousness are going to disappear without us bringing our consciousness to a more integrated and responsible place. I’m seeing that this finding of solutions and utilizing them for a better world is also going to have the most power in group efforts.
What are your dreams for a better world? We all have a place in dreaming it up right now. Please take your place in this virtual circle, as a peer of the rest of us. Add your dreaming to our dreams, and allow the solutions to come forth from this seeding.
I feel if we’re willing to put our focus on seeding the new and supporting those who are positioned to make definitive moves into this new paradigm, this magical void space will support this now. It’s supporting it in its very beginning phases, in the seeding, in the sowing.
