How to Overcome the Ego

Science says that energy moves. Humans label this inner power emotion. It’s all about raising vibrational energy.
My energy drained off from my present life into past issues. My focus on the past robs me of daily energy. Moving into the present elevates my focus and energy into a height of God consciousness, love, or healthy vibrations of well-being. For me spirituality means living in love or positive vibrations of energy that I call spirit.
The material world is tempting. It’s used by the ego to promote a person’s attraction, use of time, and energy. A fancy house, a better job, or a new computer game can all be great distractions and deterrents and take time away from what is of spiritual value, if allowed. However, that joy is quick and fleeting.
Does it really provide contentment, serenity, or inner peace? Do some people keep buying something more, trying to find the one item or friend that will fill the emptiness inside?
Is it time to look for being genuine from my heart, rather than superficial from my ego? Material items are not of permanent value. The ego encourages a person to buy one more thing to make them happy; however, items can break at any time. Many people looking for jobs used to have a great salary, beautiful home and yard, or a super car, but they’re gone when the job is eliminated. They’re temporary and cannot fill the void.
What does bring reality, sanity, and serenity to my life? With my new decision not to follow in the path of the ego, it’s time to replace my insanity from the material world that lures me with a false sense of pleasure. It becomes more obvious that my inner journey focus on sincerity with unconditional love. It will provide the fulfillment I desire. I am moving from my head into my heart.
Now my journey is an inner path of faith. Men of faith have courage. Releasing the outcome of each part of my life allows a higher power to produce the outcomes that may be better than I intended. Leaving the results up to a Creator, who provides relief from my playing God in my life, and in the lives of my loved ones lightens my burdens.
I need to trust the Universe/God to supply my needs and bring appropriate results into my life. This is real faith. If I do the footwork, then turn the results over to my Creator, I usually have a surprise. It may be better than imagined.
This higher power is an energy force. It is called by many labels such as: Love, God, Creator, or Creative Forces. It cares for me. Relying on a power greater than myself replaces the ego and its selfishness. I move into a higher consciousness of being more rational, loving, and sane.
Faith is powerful; it provides strength in my life. It’s always there. It connects me to the positive stream of energy that created the universe. It supports me in all things. I am not alone trying to survive on the planet.
Contempt before investigation is of the ego. Investigate the fear with faith. Faith replaces fear when examining beyond the unknown. Now I have facts upon which to base a new decision. Will the details provide more understanding, making apprehension not necessary? Yes, looking beyond the fear is faith.
As I become honest with myself and move into this new place, opportunities appear. Honesty has replaced my denial. I move into more reality the more honest I become. I see from a new perspective. I am no longer separated from God as I move into new circumstances. Honesty directly connects me to a positive energy force, which dispels the darkness of the ego. My feelings lighten. I feel good—the presence of God. Honesty has become the best policy.
With faith, I can now live in sincerity, honesty, and detachment. Detachment comes with facing my fears, releasing them, and letting go of all negative emotions. Sincerity comes from the heart. These are the keys to move out of the ego’s influence. Now faith connects me to a Higher Power.
Another way to prevail over the ego is with information. Why be in fear of the unknown? Fear of the unknown disappears as I gain in understanding or knowledge. When I have information, there is no need for fear. This knowing replaces the unknown. When I know the original basis for the ego, which is separation from God, my thinking can change.
I learn to pray for my enemies. When a fearful situation arises, I pray for that circumstance to culminate in the highest good for all. When I send out love, I smooth the path. I’m not creating more chaos but sending loving energy that allows loving energy to return to me.
Sending prayer or love is actually very practical to dispel the ego’s influence of promoting turmoil and havoc. If someone does not feel threatened, the outcome can be very beneficial for all. They too are children of God.
I send love to others and don’t forget to love myself. This is often more difficult as so often the ego has influenced lack of self-esteem and emotional security. Some people have lived in guilt or shame for many reasons. They find it comfortable and normal. As I came to understand that I am made in the image of my Creator, the ego’s messages of old were forgotten as ancient history. The real me, the God-conscious person can claim my birthright. I am a child of God.
Another major way to prevail over the ego is through forgiveness. This is the bridge between the ego and our higher self. I extend forgiveness not because I approve of the other person’s actions or attitudes but because I no longer need to carry emotional baggage. It’s like releasing the shackles of the past. The event or predicament did happen. However, I can now perceive it from my higher self and acknowledge the other person also as a child of God.
I release the emotional distress of the past for a new today. Giving up the past to live in the ‘Now’ is freeing. I do it to liberate myself from hanging on to something that’s over. It did present a learning experience necessary for my soul’s growth.
Lessons in life are not always pleasant. In fact, I’ve been through trials and tribulations that were horrifying. Now I discover my lessons learned through these experiences have fostered growth. This raises my energy into a higher consciousness. This is what life is really about.
Others played out their part in my lessons. I asked them to help me, before I was born into this life, with the experiences I needed to heal my soul. They volunteered to be in my play.
They offered the opportunity for me to learn love, forgiveness, compassion, and gratitude. Taking responsibility for the karma I created is a major step in being accountable and balanced. In addition, sending love to those problems or people I harmed in my past needs to be done.
I need to change this low energy of the ego to a higher vibration for me to move into a higher consciousness. With ascension on the doorstep, forgiving past predicaments becomes essential to raising my energy.
The people who volunteered to play a part in my life did me a favor by providing the happening so my energy can shift to a higher plane. There can be no negative energy in the Fifth Dimension. Now I can move on and not be stuck in this old karma, bitterness, or new resentments.
It’s also necessary to stop blaming or judging others for my problems. This is a common occurrence from the ego. When I point a finger at someone else, there are several fingers pointing back at me. The only person I am being inconsiderate of is me, when I do not take responsibility for my life. What I send out will come back to me.
Clearing out my past negative emotions, actions, and communications, I’m able to return to the oneness with my Creator. Taking responsibility for my life, and every part that I needed for my soul’s growth, is essential. Only when I respond in love to all situations that occur instead of reacting in revenge, hatred, or resentment towards others or internalizing guilt and shame, can I become a master of my emotions.
Now I realize that no one else can save me. I save myself from my ego. There’s no devil, Satan, or hell. I have found that I am the cause and effect in my own life. What I caused comes back to be loved. When it comes sometimes so painfully, it’s easy to run away physically or emotionally. I ran from the consequences which led away from truth and love. I must face reality.
When I attack someone else, the other person will defend himself or herself and retaliate. When I’m in a difficult situation, sending love will change the dynamics and peace can be restored. No one can attack love. There is no threat from love.
It is ego’s lie that I’ll be punished if I reveal my true self to God. The truth is that in surrendering to God, I have the love of God to protect me from any harm. It’s the safest place to be.
The scariest thing in life is to be totally available to God’s love. The ego shut me down from love when I felt danger. The body closes off all light from God as a way to protect me from harm. When I was a child in abusive and/or dangerous environments, it protected me. However, as an adult, the ego continues to keep me from opening to my loving essence. Until the past is healed, I cannot be open to experience God’s love.
