Happy Sunday, dear friends. I am planning a very relaxing day for myself, because I need it. If you are visiting Golden Age of Gaia, you will see many changes to the website, and a few of us pulled an “all-nighter” to make that happen.
Sometimes, we simply have to bite the bullet to get things done, but we must also remember to give ourselves the time we need to recuperate. If this means putting some things on the back-burner, like yesterday’s News Roundup, then we have to give ourselves the opportunity to make these kinds of choices in order to support ourselves.
During times of stress and flat out activity, we need to remember to love ourselves the most and treat ourselves gently. We would do it for a friend, so why not for ourselves? It’s amazing how much differently we treat ourselves, when we start to think of ourselves as our own best friends.
Part of this relaxing and regenerating day is sharing some good news to light my own heart and hopefully yours too! There is never a shortage of good news out there, so lets begin our journey together.
Police officer delivers help instead of arresting a struggling shoplifter.
Helen Johnson, of Tarrant, Alabama, did not have enough money to buy eggs to feed her grandchildren. The kids had not eaten in 2 days, so she tried to steal the eggs. She was caught by a store employee who called the police.
When Police Officer William Stacy arrived on the scene, he listened to her tearful story and decided not to arrest her. He went into the store and brought her some eggs, telling her to go home and feed her family.
The story does not end there. Stacy signed Johnson’s family up for a holiday gift program and started a food donation drive for her. Due to a video uploaded by a passerby, a huge amount of support for the family has come in from all over the US.
I love finding stories like this to balance the extreme views on police behavior portrayed in the media lately. It’s important to remember that there is an individual heart behind every badge, and many of those hearts belong to wonderful human beings.
The Dalai Lama is a professional laugher.
This short excerpt from the Dalai Lama’s book, My Spiritual Journey, shares his thoughts on laughter, smiles and friendship. It also explains why he considers “enemies” to be our best teachers. He believes that helping others is the way to ultimately help ourselves.

Putting our planet into universal perspective.
Take an amazing journey of perspective into the far reaches of the universe. This article details our place in the starry sky, and conveys how vast space really is. Much of this information was unknown to me, but it really does put things into astronomical proportion.

Beautiful roads to travel.
Join me on a road-trip to some of the most beautiful stretches of asphalt in the world. Of course, it is no surprise that our blessed mother earth is the star of the show in every case! I feel deep gratitude for having traveled quite a few of these roads along my path in life. I am sure there are many more beautiful roads around the world if we simply take a moment to look around.

A dear deer dancing with a dog.
You already know I love strange animal friendships. Inter-species relationships prove that we all can truly get along if we set aside our differences and focus on our similarities. This adorable video has gone viral on many internet platforms. When this man walks his dog in the woods, a wild deer often accompanies them. This time, he recorded their antics playing in a stream, and the joy of this deer is divine.
And finally…
Restoring faith in humanity, one random act of kindness at a time.
Sometimes, we may feel as if one tiny act of kindness does not amount to much. When you add up all these little events, the beautiful energy of love, compassion and support multiplies exponentially.
This wonderful video certainly reveals a world where neighbors help and support each other. The world we are wishing for already exists in the hearts of all good people willing to help each other.
