Did you know that there is a direct correlation between spiritual awakening and inner power?
When I was a kid, people were often screaming at each other, spouses publicly arguing, parents scolding their children and kids bullying kids.
As I grew up and moved away from the scolding, arguing and bullying, I became aware of personally reaching a higher state of consciousness where people respected each other and communicated in ways that were honoring of one another.
It makes sense that as we evolve and wake up, we become more and more honoring to the world outside of us, but there is really something very simple yet profound that happens under the surface, and when we understand it and apply it to our awakening, we can evolve much quicker.
When we are spiritually asleep, at lower states of consciousness, we unconsciously give our inner power away, and as we awaken and move into higher states of consciousness, we begin to own our power. Knowing this makes it possible to accelerate awakening, simply by owning your power and not giving it away.
How do you give your power away?
In lower states of consciousness, you give your power away every time you give your energy away, by negatively reacting to someone or something; every time you blame the outside world for anything, you give your power away. This also means that every time you argue, scold or criticize, you give your power away.
As you awaken and reach higher states of consciousness, you begin to own your power. This means that truly powerful people are conscious and awake.
Being spiritually conscious means that you know that you are responsible for everything that you experience in your reality. You are never a victim to any person or situation because you are co-creating every experience that you have. This is the core quality to the world’s most successful people and how people go from rags to riches and create amazing realities.
Yelling at someone or accusing anyone of anything is like having a night-time dream and blaming another person in your dream for hurting you. In your dream, there is no other person – it is just you pretending to be someone else. Just as it is silly to blame someone in our dreams for hurting us, it is just as silly to blame someone in our lives for hurting us.
In lower states of consciousness, it appears that things are happening to us and taking our power away. We react in order to reclaim this power. Emotions like anger or frustration are unconscious attempts at reclaiming your power.
However, it never works, because as soon as we believe that someone or something has power over us, we give our power to that person or situation – we do the very thing that we are unconsciously trying to prevent. In believing that the outside world has power over you, you give your power to the outside world.
Instead of getting your power back, this is really where you are giving it away. Anger, frustration, jealousy, or any reactive emotion, all give your power away. You give your power away through any emotion that is the result of believing that someone has taken something from you or has something you need.
What does it look like to own your power?
As we wake up and evolve spirituality into higher consciousness, we remember that we are projecting our reality and nothing is happening outside of us.
When you completely own your power, you take responsibility for everything in your experience; this includes everything that directly happens in your life, as well as everything that you are even conscious of in the world.
If you are aware of something, even if it is just what you see on TV, it is happening in your consciousness and therefore it is a reflection of you. Nothing is happening outside of you. This means that there is no blaming others for doing or not doing things – without blaming the world, anger, frustration and a host of other low vibration emotions are no longer provoked.
Let’s be really clear here, when you take responsibility, from a higher state of consciousness, it can only be without self-judgment, self-blame or self-criticism.
When you judge yourself for disharmony in your life, or in the world, you are vibrating at a lower state of consciousness, and as a result, you actually create more disharmony.
Taking responsibility from a higher state of consciousness is empowering and freeing. Instead of self-blame, you simply find the corresponding “inner cause” of outer-trouble, and you shift it. From a higher state of consciousness, you find the disharmony in yourself and you harmonize it. That is the point.
The highest level of conscious corresponds to owning our power – and not giving it away in exchange for anything.
There will come a point when it will be really easy to be present and conscious in our lives, without ever reacting, but it is a process to get there.
At lower levels of consciousness – we feel better after we react. As we become more conscious – it no longer feels good to react. As we continue to awaken, it feels quite awful, and even out of integrity to react. This is our inner guidance system leading us to awakening.
As we awaken, and become more and more conscious, we might still have internal reactions to people and events but we quiet our negative expression and we do not react outwardly.
Finally, when we are fully conscious and awake, there is nothing in which to react – if we don’t like what is going on in reality, we find the corresponding cause inside ourselves and we realign our thoughts, beliefs, emotions and actions.
Being responsible for your Reality does not make you responsible for others!
The tricky part is being responsible for your experience of reality without taking on the responsibility of others. As soon as you try to control the experience of another, or believe that it is any of your business, you drop into lower consciousness.
In other words, you are responsible for your experience of reality which includes your experience of everyone, yet, another person’s experience of reality is none of your business; even what someone thinks or feels about you is none of your business.
If you try to control anyone, in anyway, you give them your power. The only thing that you can ever control is your own energy which amounts to your personal and intrinsic power.
This means that when your spouse, child or friend is having a challenging experience, you don’t take responsibility for their experience. You allow them to have their own experience of reality, without trying to control them or it.
You can, however, quietly uncover the inner part of you that might be responsible for that experience, and you can release or adjust any beliefs, judgments or views that may be manifesting as the others experience. This means that it is still about you and not about them.
Yet, from the highest level of consciousness, you allow everyone their experience, without needing to alter or change it in anyway. In other words, you trust the flow and wisdom of life. You are the most powerful when you allow others their experience, and you take complete responsibility for yours.
This is the super-conscious state of true spiritual power.
This is also where we tap into our power to consciously create what we truly desire in life. Your intrinsic power manifests as loving relationships, creative expression, living as free as you feel, success in realizing your dreams, and being truly joyful and peaceful in all that you do.
As we Master Our Energy, through mastering our thoughts, beliefs and emotions, we begin to understand that this is the only power and control that we have over our reality, but also the only one that is needed.
As long as we believe that the outside world acts independently of us, we have no power, but once we remember that the outside world is a reflection of our inner world, we have unlimited power – to change ourselves, hence change our world. This is the grand mechanism for conscious co-creation.
By taking complete responsibility for your life, without self-judgment, you can easily raise your level of consciousness, thereby accessing greater intrinsic power.
When you use your life as feedback and adjust your inner world accordingly, until the outside world lines up in the ways you most desire, you can make a quantum jump in spiritual evolution. In this way, owning your power could be a shortcut to awakening.
