Welcome to Tuesday, dear readers! It is cloudy and gray here, but the birds are still chirping and the brightly colored leaves are still falling, and I hope you all have a beautiful day!
The mother of my daughter’s dear friend, just came back from El Salvador, and she brought me some tree coffee that her late grandmother had processed by hand in her small village. I can taste the love in this blessed treasure of the mountains, and I am filled with joy! I wish I could share a cup of this nectar with you all, while we jump around the world for the news!
Catholic Bishops ask for a more open attitude in Church’s stance towards gays.
The Vatican seems to be shifting from its long-held stance related to homosexuals. In a preliminary report from the October 5, 2014 synod of bishops, who convened in Rome to discuss the Church’s stance on abortion, contraception, homosexuality and divorce, the bishops called for a more relaxed attitude towards gays. They said in the report that homosexuals have “gifts and qualities to offer” the Church. Gay rights activists hail this as a major shift to a more inclusive Church atmosphere, though there is strong descent from conservatives on this issue.

This article gives a bit more information on the film itself, and how it was created. That this film has been created, and is being shown nationwide, seems a huge step in the right direction, towards showing the American public that many things must change in the current government.

Tree huggers got something right!
This article was sent in by a dear reader. In a time when many have almost completely disconnected from our Mother Earth, new science is pointing to the fact that grounding, into the negative ions produced by the earth, has incredible wellness benefits. Since most people wear shoes with rubber soles, the currents that used to run up through their bare, or leather clad fee,t are inhibited from interaction with the body. Grounding into the earth, or Earthing, as it is currently being referred to, can bring peace and tranquility to the body, as well as alleviating many common health concerns. I have been grounding for years, by walking bare foot in the grass during summer time, and placing my palms on trees during the winter months, and I highly recommend it.

We all love to be alone sometimes, but too much isolation can affect the mind.
This link was shared by a dear reader, and I will gently urge you to use your discernment in reading it, as some of the information may be unsettling. Michael Bond wrote The Power of Others, and this article is a brief synopsis of what he has learned about deep levels of isolation, and the unraveling of the mind. Much of this information has been learned from incarceration, and deprivation experiments in the 1950’s and 60’s, but the bottom line points to the deep seated need for humans to have connections. While some of the hallucinations that pop up during isolation, may be common experiences for those who meditate deeply or spend extended time in darkness, these occurrences have not yet been explained by science.

Wild bears get a new lease on life in Cambodia.
Bear trafficking is big business in Asian countries, as an extract created from their bile, which is produced in the liver to assist in the digestion of fats, is also used in traditional Chinese medicine. Nev Broadis works with Free the Bears, a non-profit Australian rescue group that has been in Cambodia for 17 years. During their tenure in the country, they have saved 182 rare Asian bears, including endangered Moon, Sun and Sloth Bears, that have extremely limited wild populations. Most of the rescues have been young cubs, that are nursed back to health, and introduced to a large wild life refuge. With the help of other international and Cambodian agencies, the country leads 16 other Asian nations in the number of bears it has rescued since tracking began.

What does the sun dress up as for Halloween?
A dear reader sent in this lighthearted link to share with us all. The sun, not to be outdone by the blood moon and lunar eclipse, dressed up as a Jack-o-lantern, to usher in the Halloween season. That is what NASA scientists decided, when they viewed a composite frequency image of the sun on October 8, 2014. The images do look surprisingly like a Halloween pumpkin, but I also think the sun is simply smiling at us all!
